The trailers for it look really good.

Can't wait to see it. :D

I'm having to read the book again just to remind me what happens!

How many of you are planning an 'all day' session when all 3 films are available to buy ? Crank up the popcorn machine and let your brains slowly slide out of your ears  ?

Sounds an excellent idea!!! :D

I've always been a big fan (although some members knowledge on this site puts me to shame - you know who you are Holly & FF!)

I finally saw Return of the King this week and thought that it was brilliant

It is a long film, but it's great the way that they took the time to really build up the characters and give so much background information (as Tolkein did). It perfectly compliments the other two IMO and comes across as a real labour of love as you watch it.

Highly recommended :D

give so much background information

Excellent film , but they did leave out some pretty important bits. Heres hoping they put them back in in the extended DVD

They seem to have filmed part of the 'taking of the shire' sequence already, flashes of it were seen in Galadrials pools by Frodo in the first film. They basically removed that whole of that final sub plot in the screen verson of 'Return of the King' - from meeting Sauroman and Wormtongue on the way back to the Shire (with Wormtongues killing of Sauroman), to Sam, Pippin and Merry's discovery that the Shire has been taken over by 'tall folk' and their heroic battle to retake it. *sigh*

Great news from the Oscars last night, eh? ;)

11/11 for LoTR :D

The extended film is supposed to be coming out in September.

Anyone know if there's plans to bring out the trilogy of extended films? If so, when?

If they did Holly, then that would be some compilation!!

I'm sure it will be on the cards :)

It was a good film and a good trilogy !!

Don't know if any of you guys ever saw the MTV Spoof
with Jack Black and Sarah Michelle Geller.

It has been shown on Tv but it is a bit 'Risque' so if your likely to be
offended, please don't click on the link. I aint here to upset you guys

Don't get the 'theatre release' version of ROTK, wait for the extended DVD in December .. I've heard it has over an hour of extra material in it :) (bliss)

Anyone seen this film available for sale yet?

Last year, I know that I picked up The Two Towers a few days before it's official release date at the supermarket. ;)

I wouldn't mind 9 hours of LOTR tomorrow! ;)

Another question! ;)

Anyone know whether an extended trilogy set is going to be released and, if so, when?

All I can say about the extended versions to date is that they've previously been released in the November following the normal version (in time for Christmas  ) - so you may want to add it to your wish list ;)

We both thought the film was excellent... but we're big Christopher Lee fans, and his bit was totally cut from the film, so that made us sad :( . Saw him talking on TV about how upset he was that the film had been "tampered" with. Would that be in the extended version do you think?

We've got the extended versions of the first two films, so we're waiting to get the third and watch them all together (well, one after the other, not all at the same time )

I love LOTR trilogy especially The Two Towers which some Americans wanted renamed after 9/11 :(

BMM :)
