A MAN has breached the ASBO he was handed for threatening to to douse his neighbour’s daughter with petrol and ‘watch her burn’.

Brian Davies was handed an ASBO in September. He had also been making homophobic remarks to his neighbours Rhys Jenkins and Robert Cook.

On Monday he was imprisoned for 10 weeks by Judge Nicholas Woodward after a court heard how Davies had breached the order by shouting at other neighbours.

Warrington Crown Court heard how, on November 4, Davies had been kicking a door on Hughes Avenue in Orford while shouting and swearing, which breached a condition of his ASBO that stated he was not to make excessive noise.

He then walked past another Hughes Avenue house, where he saw Rhys Jenkins and Robert Cook, a gay couple, and a friend. He shouted at them, and they told police they felt threatened by his behaviour.

The next day he blocked a communal area outside Mr Jenkins’ home, refusing to let him past, and was aggressive and intimidating, Debra White, prosecuting, said.

Davies, aged 40, formerly of Hughes Avenue but now living in Ulverston Avenue, had a ‘lengthy’ list of past convictions, the court heard.

His defending barrister told the court these breaches were low level, and that Davies would be willing to never enter Hughes Avenue again.

“The whole purpose of the anti-social behaviour order was to protect Mr Jenkins and Mr Cook, the previous victims of your anti-social behaviour,” said Judge Woodward.

Davies had pleaded guilty to breaching his ASBO.
