Well Pop Idol 2 is down to it’s last eight, and I’m left wondering if anyone is still watching it.
The embarrassing chart entries of David Sneddon (in at 38) and Kym Marsh (in at 35) this week are graphic displays of how short-lived the careers of these manufactured arists really are. Sneddon is giving up his “singing career” in favour of writing, and Kym Marsh is reportedly being dropped from her record label, and they follow a string of artists from TV talent shows that have fallen by the wayside over the past couple of years.
The latest that I have seen is the five rejects from Popstars -The Rivals that didn’t make One True Voice (who were a complete flop by the way) have formed a group called Phixx and entered the Top 40 this week at number 10.
The top twelve contestants are favourites for Christmas number one with a cover of the John Lennon classic War Is Over, and I am wondering if the record company even cares about what will happen to the winner once they have bagged this coveted No 1 spot.
Anyway the favourite to win at the moment is Susanne at 5/2, I’m not convinced myself, but am as sad as ever and will predictably be watching.
The odds to win are as follows:

My money’s on Chris :lol: – but by the looks of it, he’s a long shot :(

I think they're saying Kim's expected to go tonight (apparently her MP has been campaigning to keep her in :blink: ).
I think that Roxanne is one of the better singers in there, Suzanne has a unique voice which may carry her through. And little Chris? Bless him :blink: I always think of him as a cross between a young Morrisey and a vicar :lol: .
there is only i winner ROXanne. ps i love the show watch it every saturday. going out tonight either susanne or the vicar

Yep - both shockingly bad!!!!!
I've been watching each week too, and to be honest I have problems remembering who is who as they are all so samey, (I sound like SUCH a moaner!!).

Milly - I always get it wrong - every week without fail!!! :D :D :D
I thought that Kim didn't deserve to go out this week, but I don't think she would have lasted the distance anyway. As for her MP campaigning to keep her in....I'm just glad he's not my MP, or I would have serious issues about his priorities!!!
Chris really should have gone out :sad: - what was that all about!!!??? :unsure:

i am shocked at poor old kym going out, i liked here. i wonder about that chris, he is a sweet fella, but hasnt really got pop idol looks....he looks like his contact lenses are giving him permanent gip!!!! :lol:

I'm really sad that Andy has gone. I thought that he was really sweet (and he was easy on the eyes too!).
I think they are going to massacre some Beatles songs next week :unsure: I'm afraid to watch!!

i am glad andy has gone out, he was YUK!!!! But I am amazed that susanne didnt get her marching orders, i like her as a character but her singing was D I A BOL I CAL!

Anyway - next week is Big Band week which has all the makings of being a potential disaster (not as bad as Kids Eurovision unfortunately methinks :rolleyes: )

i have to say it, i was shocked when roxanne went out, she was not the worst by any means. i thought suzanne was very bad, her voice just isnt suited to pop singing, shes a bit like alex parks (although with far less talent) , probably better off doing indie songs.
also, for the first time, michelle didnt impress me.
i think big band will really separate them, last year it really favoured will youngs voice and helped him win it, methinks.
i am so into it!!!! :lol: i need to get a life!

Oooh, only a few hours to go ;) .
I thought that lad (what's he called? :lol: - the little rocker one...) did well last week.
I sympathised with you MIlly, I knew you'd be devasted at Roxanne getting the heave ho. :(
I reckon Chris might do OK tonight.

Def mark or suzanne other three were a class above. If this does not happen the show is a fix P.S I hope it is Suzzanne but it may be Mark.

Oops missed it tonight (I'm still in shock that I managed to get out on a Saturday night!).
But being the sad addict that I am - I'll try and catch the repeat on ITV2 tomorrow. (At least I'll have something to watch whilst I get through the 1/2 tonne of ironing that's taking over my dining room)

at last suzanne is out...i think she has known for the past 3 weeks she was on thin ice....she should go off and sing sheryl crow or alanis morrissette songs...
michelle, chris and sam were very good, which leaves mark in a dicey position...

It says in the telly guide that this Saturday they are going to feature a performance of the Pop Idol Christmas single, a version of John Lennon's Happy Christmas (War is Over).
My NFH was playing that song loudly last Friday :huh: - made a change from the thumping bass they usually play.

It was (believe it or not) when he was performing his annual release (glad I go that bit right :blush: )
He was on stage with a choir and stuff and miming and they had used the dry ice thing and it had made the stage slippy. :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
Room 101, no don't put him in there til I have moved from here, my house on my deeds shows this to be PLOT 101. :( Couldn't cope with him and the Ivorettes next door :crazy:

i was surprised chris went out....shame..but he doesnt eactly have pop idol looks does he? but then again neither does will young....not like mark who looks like gary barlow....

i thought michelle's ' holy night' was amazing. wow. i really hope she wins, not sam. hes good but it would be too boring if he won. lets have someone really different.

It ends next week.
But they were advertising for applicants for Pop Idol 3 last night!! They just keep churning them out!!
