A historic cattle market in County Durham is under threat after residents complained about noise levels.

intersting case really
I should imagine that the cattle market was there in situ a long time before a lot of those residents and you expect noise to be heard from cattle markets....if you dont like moo cow noise then dont move in next door ;)
however....
I do agree that there should be movement restrictions during certain hours of the day and night, 4.30am is not a good time if you are asleep ;)
I hope that they can all come to an agreement
I see a decision has already been reached on this story, not a good outcome for local residents

Darlington Council served the noise abatement order under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 in January, after a visit by environmental health officer Edward Whelan who deemed the noise a "statutory nuisance".
However, Colin Beadle, chair of the bench, said: "We feel that a more thorough investigation was required before Mr Whelan could be sufficiently satisfied that there was a statutory nuisance."
Early and late deliveries can continue at a historic cattle market after farmers win a battle over noise.
