View Full Version : Gas Boiler Allowance
Hi
Hubby was reading the paper last night and noticed something that may be of interest to people here.
Did you know that if your gas boiler "packs up" you may be able get a grant from the Council to put in a new one, even if you own your property.
Just thought I would pass it on.

Isis you are a godsend:) I know someone who is really suffering because they haven't been able to afford a new boiler and they own their own home.
You dont happen to remember which paper do you?
Hi P24:hihi:
Hope you are well:D, sorry no love, he didn't say, just came out with it, so get your friend to get onto the Council, it may well be a local thing for us, but as the saying goes "if you don't ask, you don't get" and they don't like us knowing about these sort of things as they don't like paying out.
Hope it works for your friend.

I'll pass it on - you never know they could be lucky.;)
Thanks,:)
Hi P24, a company called 'Eaga' runs a scheme in England for central heating grants. It is called 'the Warm Front scheme':
http://www.warmfront.co.uk/do-i-qualify.htm
Only certain people qualify for a grant as the attachment shows.
In wales I think Eaga also runs the 'HEES' (Home Energy Efficiency Scheme or something like that) scheme which is similar, so google HEES or phone 0800 316 2815.
In Scotland, Eaga no longer runs the scheme, it is now run by British Gas - call 0800 3156 1653.
You can also Google 'Eaga' and have a nose about :D .
Hope this helps :) .
