1, when do you usually get the error message and what does it actually say?

2, have you downloaded the Ntdll.dll fix from microsoft?

first off do these things,

1, if you don't have it already download the latest version of Adobe flash player.

2, uncheck the "allow third party browser extensions" box. in IE you'll find it in Tools/internet options/advanced. you'll need to restart after you do that.

3, run windows update.

by then i'll have had a chance to decipher that mess you've posted :lol:

I have all the updates known to man from Microsoft I'll look for ntdll fix, but I don't think there is one as such. All they tell you to do is disable add ons - which I do but I never really know which one is causing the problem :unsure: .

Umm, I can't quite remember what the error actually says apart from it's very vague in that all it says is Ie has a problem and needs to close. When i click details of course I get all those number thingies which mean nothing to me but at the top all it says the problem is in ntdll.dll.

I wondered if java was causing it...but I'll look at adobe as I think you might be onto something there - I'm becoming a techno geek in the space of a week!! I knew nothing about these things until now! :lol:

edit - sorry, I forgot to say, I don't see any pattern to when it happens, it could occur anytime...

Hi BM, I just updated Flash and I hope that will do the job as I noticed it had something to do with 'system32'...I know I don't know enough, but I am sure I sure some mention of that in the error report.

This computer is new to me and the only add ons I have really are 'activex' plug ins - that's flash isn't it?

Am I getting warmer d'you think??! :lol:

Oh and in Opera, there's no problem so it's def IE :) .

it definitely sounds as though your your version is faulty, upgrading to IE 7 might fix it. personally i don't like IE 7 :no:. unistalling IE6 and then reinstalling it has as much chance of working as upgrading.

Thanks BM, I didn't think IE 7 was worth getting...I will re instill ie 6 I think if I have to. At the moment, I have just reset it to default original settings and it is running Ok again...but I don't think it'll last long.

I've only had this pile of crud for three weeks!

Oh well, I'll put a few more quid in my savings jar towards a new pc this week :rolleyes: .
