Thanks for letting us know, i will definately have a go at that, although if Hubby is in residence that night it may be that Eastenders will take preference (yuck), but anyway I am trying to go a bit green and only have my standard lamp on and telly, the rest of the house is in darkness.

I'm glad that WWF has taken a lead on this really important topic.

I used to think that they were just a bunch of testosterone fuelled wrestlers, with no thought for the global community.

How wrong I was.

P.S. William Regal - you are the man!!! You're not from Blackpool though.

Hey BM & Beth,
You are making me feel old, i can remember trying to do my homework by candle light and also being kicked out of class rooms to go to others that had sun in them, because the heating was off, and the school thought it would be warmer but it was freezing:cold: and mum trying to cook meals around the electric going off, so that we would all have a hot meal and my bro setting fire to his bed with a tea light, and then trying to put it out himself, i think he would have been about 6 at the time.

Looked on the news after 9pm not much on about this  short mention from them , wasnt advertised enough by the looks of things ... not many peoples houses were in darkness round here either from what i could see :(

My youngest enjoyed being without lights in the end , i ended up playing a shadow hand puppet type game with him

We want you to be one of a billion people who switch their lights off during WWF’s Earth Hour. This will show the world’s leaders that we care about the planet and want them to act now to tackle climate change.

It’s as simple as the flick of a switch.

On Saturday 28 March 2009 at 8.30pm, people, businesses and iconic buildings around the world will switch off their lights for an hour – WWF’s Earth Hour.

Some 538 cities from 75 countries have already signed up. In addition, many iconic landmarks will be plunged into darkness, including the Forth Bridge, the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff; Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Table Mountain in Cape Town and Sydney Opera House.

I have already signed up
