Don't forget, the show starts at 6.55pm tonight on ITV! ^_^

Durans for X Factor

Eighties legends Duran Duran are gearing up for an appearance on Saturday’s X Factor.

The group, who have sold more then 70 million records in a career spanning almost 30 years, will mentor the remaining contestants as they prepare to take on great British tracks.

Hope, Leon, Niki, Rhydian and Same Difference are for the first time set to sing two tracks each, including Spice Girls’ 2 Become 1 and Wham’s Wake Me Up Before You Go Go.

The Durans have just released new album Red Carpet Massacre and worked with contemporary greats such as Nate Danja Hills, Timbaland and the trouser snake himself, Justin Timberlake.

On Saturday they will sing Falling Down, which was co-written by Timberlake, who was a massive Duran Duran fan in his teens and also sings backing vocals on the track.

Frontman Simon LeBon commented: “What goes around, comes around.”

The four piece band comprising of LeBon, John Taylor, Roger Taylor and Nick Rhodes, are also set to play their first UK gig in two years on Monday at the Lyceum Theatre, in London’s West End.

Dannii Minogue’s contestant, the operatic Rhydian remains the favourite to win the ITV show, with Simon Cowell’s girlband, Hope, the outsiders.

It's the semi finals tonight :o Nicky, Rhydian, Leon & Same Difference

Personally, I think it should be Nicky & Rhydian in the last two :)

What do you all think?

Rhydian gives me the creeps, he reminds me of Max Headroom if anyone remembers him. Picking the Liverpool football anthem might not have been his smartest move either, even if I liked him I wouldn't vote for him for that reason.
