:D Anyone going to see a pantomime this year?

I love pantos  but we haven't been for about 3 years now since our kids outgrew it

Mrsp54 wants the two of us to go this year and I think we might. Panto definitely brings out the child in the pair of us :huh:

We have seen loads, but some of the best were with Barbara Windsor, who was great when someone forgot their lines and she is a great ad libber

I also loved Joe Pasquale in panto. I wasn't too keen on him before hand, but he is a natural comic and just had everyone in fits of laughter. His jokes are soooo corny, but he brought the house down  His first appearance was solo, and he walked on stage with a cart with a bucket and ladders. He got the ladder out of the cart and said -

' This is my step ladder.....................my real ladder left home when I was 2' The theatre erupted!!

Soooo corny, but he was born to do panto

Anyone else going to admit to loving panto - c'mon don't be shy, I've 'come out' - don't leave me to be the only one.........please! :rolleyes:

I think we need it SP. If people get their way and get Punch and Judy banned because of it not being PC anymore, then it's only a matter of time before they traditional pantos are looked at.

What's this place without a 'LOOK BEHIND YOU!'.

Madness!

I have to confess I have never seen one.

So, which one is your favourite?

I haven't got a particular favourite, but honestly, they are all great fun :rolleyes: I have never seen a bad one ^_^ We used to take our kids a couple of days before Christmas and they really loved it.

I love all the Pantos that I've seen in Glasgow. the King's theatre traditionally has the best pantos ;) Very glasgow humour though. i've been taken too see them since I was little in Stanley Baxter's glory days. Now he made a fantastic dame:lol:
Now Gerard Kelly and Elaine C Smith keep 'em laughing in the ailes

I agree with you that the King's Theatre is pretty good for pantos:). It's one of the things I miss most about not being in Scotland is Christmas & Hogmanay and everything that goes with it:(. I've not been to a panto for over a decade now my wee one won't sit still enough even for panto:tomato::shutit::doh:. So I'll just be staying in again:curly:

:D Our panto tickets arrived today :D

Hubby and I weren't going to bother but it was our eldest son [he's 27 mind ] and our daughter [19] who nagged us into booking  Our other son isn't too bothered - he'd rather stay at home with his puppy :rolleyes:
I thought it was quite nice that even at their age they wanted to go as a family, so they must have happy memories of all the years we used to go when the 3 of them were little :) Our sons girlfriend is coming too and it will be her first ever panto - she's really excited about it, bless her :rolleyes:

We couldn't get tickets for before Christmas so we are going on the 3rd Jan to see Snow White with Ross Kemp & Bobby Davro

I can't wait :D
