Hello,

I'm after old mobile phones from anyone who can help - the phones can be in any condition, and it doesn't matter if they have a charger or battery etc. Over the next 4 months I am going to be working full time for free with someone to help her set up a charity for people with Thyroid problems.

See: Thyroid-Disease.org.uk - Home (http://www.thyroid-disease.org.uk/)

Before we manage to get any real funding (which can take up to 6 months depending on applications) we're trying to get in enough money to redevelop the website. One way is to collect old mobile phones - we get £3 for every phone, and every time we collect 100 we we get an extra £100 for the charity. So, if you would like to contribute an old mobile stuck in the bottom of a drawer somewhere - PLEASE post on this thread and I'll give you the address to post the phones to. We've got a bit of a task on our hands - although ultimately it will be well worth it - so every bit of help you can give us will be massively appreciated.

I've got one to get rid of, with it's charger. Would you want the charger too?

Hiya,

Brilliant - thank you. Yes to the charger to please. We don't get any more money for the charger, but it will be re-cycled - which is better than it sitting in the bottom of a drawer or going in a bin!

I'm not sure how I can give you the address, because I've not found a way to private message on here. Is it possible?

Only privileged members can use the private messaging system here on NFHIB

By becoming privileged you are supporting the forum though - it's well worth it. Details here http://www.nfh.org.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=5496

Hi thewisestfish
Good luck with raising the cash and setting up the charity you could always set up a free email account such as hotmail to use as a contact address that way you wouldnt need to give your actual e mail address to anyone but could just use the free one for that purpose
I hate to throw a spanner in the works but would also like to say be very careful if you are giving an address which could identify you always better to be safe than sorry ;)

I will ask around friends and family and see if i can get some mobiles im a sufferer of hypothyroidism so i appreciate your hard work :)

Hi er59

That's a good idea. If anyone has any phones they would like to donate, please e-mail me on htfundraising@yahoo.co.uk and I'll gibe you an address to send the phones to.

The other thing we've got is a search engine (which is pretty good). WHenever it's used, we get a % or the advertising costs paid direct to us.

The address for the search engine is:

easysearch.org.uk | Supplied by Easy Fundraising | Powered by Yahoo! (http://thyroiddou.easysearch.org.uk/)

If you buy something from one of the adverts brought up by the search engine 50% of the profit Easy search gets from the advert goes directly to us. Which creates a bit of revenue for us (only a little, but some none the less!)
