Somebody at work paid me a compliment today and I went as red as a beetroot! I expected once I hit my forties to not blush with embarrassment any more but I still do. Any advice on how to stop this would be most welcome.

I've been feeling miserable about it for most of the afternoon. How embarrassing!

If you find a way, please tell me, as I am also completely useless at taking compliments, and tend to adopt a rather strange colour myself!

I don't do foundation, so heaven knows what else will work!

Bless, enjoy the compliment!

Aw no dont feel miserable! a compliment is meant to make you happy not sad

and going red is just because we are not used to having nice things said about us! its unusual :D

Well, green foundation will stop you looking red, but if you blush with embarrassment at being given a complement just smile and say thank-you. You're worth it

Awwww, thank you everybody :D

I'm glad I'm not the only one who blushes uncontrollably at compliments.

I used to use green make up when I was in my twenties because I would get so hot and red faced when I was out night-clubbing (those were the days :D) I didn't know it was still available.

Yes, as it's quite commonly used to help with blemishes and scars etc.

I can't get on with anything on my skin other than a bit of face powder though so I will have to live with my blushes I think.
