I was sad to read of the death of TV and Radio Presenter Tony Wilson at the weekend.
The man who put Manchester on the music scene map and responsible for Factory Records that brought us Joy Division, New Order and The Happy Mondays died of cancer at the age of 57. He was immortalised in the film '24 Hour Party People', played by Steve Coogan to great acclaim.
I remember many a night in the Hacienda Club, now home to an apartment block. R.I.P. the man known as Mr. Manchester:(
