well, stoney there are quite a few people who actually think J K Rowling isnt exactly the best writer in the world and I tend to agree - there are much much better children's authors than her.
I will be extremely interested to see what she comes up with next, or whether this is the extent of her literary creativity.

I havne't read any of them (WHAT!!! I hear you say).
I have never read them either - I tried to read one (cant remeber which one it had a yellow cover ) and I just couldnt get into it. I see Asda are selling them for a fiver according to the papers
I saw the first 2 films before I read the books - that was what prompted me to read them
Can't wait for tomorrow, we're out but will pick up a copy, really annoyed I'm back to work Monday as I will not be able to put it down and I'll have to!
When the last one came out it was a hot sunny day, I sat out in the garden, so engrossed, my legs were burnt off the sun and I couldn't sit down properly for a week

Didn't ASDA get into a big hoo ha, as the publishers said it should be sold for £17,99 and ASDA said that was too expensive for their stores, so the publishers were not going to dilver any.
I guess they sorted it out then. £17 is a lot for a book esp when it's mainly aimed at the younger crowd. JK is rich enough, and yes I'd be interested to see what she comes up with next. Though really she shouldn't have to work again now!
At least you won't have to worry about getting sun burnt this time Eeyore, but don't forget your brolley if you venture out eh?
LOL Stoney too right, no fear of bruning this time
I saw that about Asda too, £5 seems a great buy though
I am hoping to get a copy over the next few days, I thought one had been pre ordered but opps, we hadnt!
Asda are doing it for a fiver but Morrisons has just undercut them by 4.99
I do feel for the smaller book stores who cant compete with that as they have to sell it nearer the rrp :(
a copy was read ths morning by aspeed reader in 47 mins and 1 sec!
Many will have already started reading the book this morning but one of the first to finish it was speed reader Anne Jones, who read more than 199,900 words, on 607 pages, in 47 minutes and one second. http://breakingnews.iol.ie/entertainment/story.asp?j=225875522&p=zz5876zz8
How can you take in the story reading at speed?
I'm up to chapter 15 and loving it, much easier reading than the last one

i started reading them last week prompted by a trailer for the film. the boys had 1 to 4 and i got 5 from the charity shop on thursday. i think they are ok as long as you remember that they are for children. my kids went to croydon today to buy games so i told them to get me number 6 while they were there but they couldnt get it anywhere. i finished number 5 this morning and got number 7 from woolies (i knew they wouldnt sell out up here cos nobody can read ) for 8 quid. so now i'm wondering what i'll do tonight with nothing to read. they didnt try waterstones so i might go to croydon tomorrow ;). you're right Annabel, shes not the best writer but i'll read anything

i have finished it!
Overall my verdict is it was really really good, but with the usual detours that JK Rowling puts in that make the book a bit clumsy in parts. i have to say the very last chapter wasnt all that great, and seemed a bit rushed...
but overall, very good indeed.
Another hour and I'll be finished too, didn't go out last night as I just wanted to read, Mr Eeyore was getting a bit narky so I had to put it down for a while..............
I managed to get a copy late last night from tesco, asda and MOrrissons had sold out
finished it this aft, agree with you Annabel, a better read than bk 6 and thought it was good, let my imagination go out and stuff  but the last bit was clumsy think it was just there to tidy up the loose bits to be honest.
(had the same prob eeyore ;) )
Yes, I enjoyed it more than book 6, much easier to read, and a satisfactory ending - at least I didn't feel I had loads of unanswered questions at the end

i went around a couple of neighbours houses last night to ask if any of their kids had book 6. i got one and finished it this afternoon. my only critisism is that it dragged on for longer than necessary and that nobody warned me about the ending :(
going to start number 7 tonight
Oh, yep sorry bM, it's a terrible ending, maybe you better not read book 7 then

I am impressed that you can buy books in Croydon! Spent many a happy hour on the door of the Blue Orchid there!
Was it Lisey's Story? I am reading that one at the moment.

The name most Doormen in the area knew it by, I hated the main staircase there, and don't get me started on heroes next door. Still at least it wasn't Chcago's or Zoots in Sutton lmao :box::box:
