I have been watching Sky News today, and have been amazed at the story of Jessica the hippo!
Jessica was washed up during a flood when she was only 1 day old. She was hand reared and expected to go off back into the wild. Seven years later she is still with the family that raised her in South Africa. She drinks, coffee, sleeps with a pillow and duvet after a nice massage, and lets herself into the house. The only complaints from the family are that she has so far broken a sofa and a bed  She is not 'held captive' and is free to leave at any time, and she regularly goes and joins some wild hippos along the river, but always returns to her 'home' every single day :)

If you get a chance, watch the video through to the end
