I have been with Orange for about ten years - my first mobile was with them and I have always stuck with them whether it be contract or pay as you go. But for the last year the signal in our village has been awful - i went back from contract to pay as you go in the end just over a year ago because more often than not I was paying (well my husband was ;) ) for a phone I couldnt always use!

No end of orange customers from the village have complained to Orange about the sudden lack of network signal - some of them even made the local paper! But still we can go days with no signal!

Anyway I have been looking round at alternatives and have found a good deal on O2 - the new motorola phone(krzr?) for £25 a month - with loads of texts (im always texting!!! ) The O2 person I spoke to said they have better UK coverage than orange - O2 have 98% orange 96%

So what I wanted to ask was is anybody here on O2 and if so do they rate it? If anybody thinks its terrible please say!!! As I said I have only ever been on Orange so have no idea what other phone companies are like for customer service etc!

Any comments would be great :) But its got to be a motorola phone  I have got the Razr V3 and i love it but its about had it from over use!!! Plus I love the motorola ring tone that goes hello moto!!!!!

Thankyou!!

 Well, we are with O2 and have no probs whatsoever, BUT we live in a town, so can't speak for more rural areas

A few years ago we got no signal in a Cornish fishing village we stayed in until we went up the hill on our way out  , but it has improved a lot since then

Last year, we certainly got a signal in the middle of the Yorkshire Moors  where we were staying as no one would leave us alone

Not very helpful am I?  but we have had no probs with them otherwise :)

Hi sparrow
Ive been with 02 forever ( even when they used to be called bt cellnet )
Ive never had problems with them at all and if you like to use text a lot go to their website and you can apply for a genie sim card as long as you top up £10 a month you get an option of 300 free text messages or 300 free minutes of call time

Thanks sp and er!

We arent rural where we are sp - its a village but its not in the middle of nowhere so we should be able to get a decent signal. We always used to!

I get something similar with Orange now er - spend £10 on top up I get 300 free texts and so on - I just cant use them some days cos Ive got no signal!! :)

Thanks :)

Oooooooooo sparrow hun I am as useless as a chocolate teapot when it come to advice on phones sorry.

Erm....talking of phones, I wonder if you guys can help, I dropped my Nokia down the loo today  (I hadn't gone don't worry!) :o It's now caput.....I'm useless, and last week it was the Radio I use at work. Thing is the Sim card looks ok, it's T Mobile and I want to keep the same number. Can I use any phone with this sim or has it got to be T Mobile? Seen quite a few deals on Tesco Direct and you can compare up to 4 phones with tech details.

(sorry for the slight hijack)

It has to be T mobile unless you get the phone unlocked to take any sim as far as I know.

Good job you hadnt flushed ;)

LP what are you like :toilet:

if you want to use the same sim card then you would have to buy a t mobile phone or you could buy a different phone and get it unlocked to all networks you can usually get this done in mobile phone shops for a fee

lol post crossed with p24's

I was with Vodaphone for years, then moved to O2 after Vodaphone messed my billing up, I would not change back and they have just done me a belter of a deal on renewing my contract. It's worth asking if they are doing any deals.

I have to ask, what call is so important you have to make it in the loo Lady P? :P

I'm a plumber. I'm often tempted to put my 'phone on top of the WC cistern but I usually remember how slippery the porcelain is and how much a 'phone can 'walk' around when it's set to vibrate.

I haven't been caught out. Yet ...

I've always been a T-Mobile & Virgin man, but I'm probably a little biased towards them as I worked there for 10yrs.

Seeing Lady P & her phone troubles reminds me of a couple of calls I had when working for Customer Services, one was a bloke in mid flow, which was bad enough, but the other was much worse as he was having a sit down contemplation while talking to me. I ended both calls as quick as I could. YUCK!
