After recent events in the house and viewing figures dropping; I was just wondering just how many people actually watch BB anymore.

I watched about 5 minutes of the first series. I never watched it again and never will.
I'll admit I haven't seen it, but I have seen a lot about it on TV today with loads of clips shown, and I think it is terrible the way that Shipla is being bullied :angry:
I think it is dreadful to put someone through this for 'entertainment' of others and I hope it wrecks the careers of those who are guilty of being the tormentors, especially that awful Jade :blink: :(
Enough is enough :(
Lets get back to some worthwhile TV like costume dramas and documentaries

Of the normal BB, I've yet to see a really decent person get born out of the normal world. After last years and wanting to strangle most of the housemates, I think I've hit that point now, especially the way this series is going.
They seem to have run out of ideas and it's not good to put people through that ordeal, celebrities or otherwise when it can open up routes to bullying, abuse and down right nasty behaviour. The fact that viewing figures go up when some complete unintelligent person enters the house only serves to make it even more sick, that people get pleasure of out belittling those who are less fortunate, had a different upbringing, are a different colour, culture etc.
Too much span for abuse and I am going off it now. It's just worn itself out, as have all these celebrity things, show jumping, ice skating. These have beens are exactly that for a reason. They have outlived their usefulness in whatever they were doing. If they are so needy that going on CBB will somehow revivie the career, then I would think twice, and then another time just to make sure I was all there.
I think they should call it a day, but alas, they are doing another one!

i think BB8 will probably be the last one. BB7 lost them a lot of viewers and this CBB has been as bad as it can get. it's tired now, i'm bored with it too :yes:

Hmm, tricky cos I am kinda watching it this time, but not avidly as in previous years (saddo that I am!!)
I definitely have not seen it since early this week or Sunday when the coven of witches were taking the mick out of Shilpa's voice and kept referring to her as 'the Indian' :frown:. That just sickened me.
I am more keeping up with events through the media, I spose...
And I must say, my life is richer for not watching it!! ;)

I think that Big Brother should evict the 3 witches immediately. They shouldn't stand for racist bullying at all. My daughter is learning am important lesson by watching BB, she and I have had long talks about bullying and racism - it's really opened her eyes.

I hate to say it but I will be watching tonight, I dont think they have done nominations so I wonder what is going to happen with those...let people vote for whoever they want rid of the most, i say!
I did see some other videos of Shilpa on You Tube, she is absolutely gorgeous, no wonder the three witches cant contain their jealousy - suck it up Danielle!!! :lol:
Well I watched something else this eve (about a 'roadkill' chef on BBC3 8-X :lol:) . So much more interesting, but just the same puke factor!! :hihi:

The show isn't getting any better according to reports :angry:
I keep hearing on the radio that x no of people have complained to regulators about the show....it started off with 2000 complaints and is now in excess of 15000 (if you believe the reports) .
Also, it's front page news in India...and people are sending in threats to channel four such as they will do something to the ''celebs'' when they come out.
What a sorry state and how badly does this reflect on our society?

SKy News reports that there have been huge protests in India, where Shilpa is very popular. Apparantly, some have been burning effigies of Jo, Jade and Dannielle. Shilpa's mum has also given an interview about how upsetting it is to see her daughter cry.
I wonder if Teddy Sherringham will think about his carer and popularity and consider dumping Dannielle?
I have never liked Jade and hope that her stardom is over.

I had always liked Jo O'Meara and have bought some of her songs, but not any more I won't.
They will be the biggest losers in this, and rightly so :(

I cannot believe the cr*p C4 have come out with in their statement, basically saying there was no overt racism and well, basically, they intend to do s*d all about any of it! :angry: :angry: :angry: what a bunch of immoral scu*bags!
I cannot stand this tolerance of low level 'casual' bigotry that is borne out of complete and utter ignorance, I simply cant bear it and it has driven me to complain to ofcom, thus adding to the 20k complaints they have now received. I am so angry - did anyone see that stupid divvy Jack saying to Shilpa to clean the stuff she had mistakenly thrown down the loo out with her teeth? ffs! i tell you its a good job I am noit in that house I would have battered him senseless...and dont get me started on Jade's rant over a poxy stock cube...utterly ridiculous :angry: :angry:
the only good thing that can happen now is that Shilpa wins it and wins it by a mile. you go Shilpa :notworthy:

We put such trash on TV because we have run out of genuine heroes who haven't been slaughtered by the PC brigade. They become a latter day cult of saints for being "charmingly" stupid, having big t*ts (and flapping them out in playboy) and for singing songs which others have written. How sad!
It is a good thing that they have been exposed as holding the prejudiced and charmless views which such uneducated characters typically adhere to. I'm glad, therefore, that BB has featured such inane and dull characters this time round. They typify the modern conception of what it is to be famous.

I am also wondering if the police will investigate the allegations of racial hatred.
I heard that they (ie the police) have received a complaint but referred it back to OFCOM to investigate and if OFCOM agrees that there is racist content, they will refer it to the police.... huh?? :huh: :blink:
And of course now people are saying that Jermaine was racist saying 'white trash' and Shilpa also for not understanding the thickos when they said 'Whale' and it sounded like 'while'...........
No doubt all involved will get away with it in the end ;) .
It certainly stinks, god help them all when they finally get out, they will surely be ruined and bl**dy right too :frown: .

I hope that Channel 4 get sued for this - it's just disgusting. Poor Shilpa is trying desperately to maintain her dignity. I hope she wins the show! I admire Jermaine for trying to calm things down. As for Dannielle saying that Shilpa should "f*ck off home" :bigeyes: well I despair, I really do.
Am I the only one who feels ashamed that this is representing people in the UK to the outside world?

I think this is going to be big news for a while now! The problem is, Jade is a fiery tempered, unintelligent and ill mannered woman who will snap at just about anything. Along comes Shilpa, who is beautiful, graceful, well mannered etc, and it's serioud competition.
Now don't get me wrong, there have been occasions where I have though 'Oh Shilpa, get over it' and I can see how she can come across as annoying sometimes, but not up herself at all. She certainly can't help how she was brought up. Obviously neither can the others, but I do think that in today's society and how publicised the issues of racial abuse and racial harmony are, they have no excuse for not trying to get along and accept that Shilpa has a different culture. They make no exceptions at all for the fact that this is her first time doing something like this, in a very strange environment, with things she is not used to and she's going to feel completely lost compared to how she's lived before now.
Jade has been there and done that and her of all people should be help integrate the group. I am very glad that BB pulled Danielle into the diary room last night to ask her what she meant by saying 'I wish she would just f**k off back home'. Danielle didn't know where to put herself, then started apologising all over the place. Seemed very well rehersed to me.
Jade had no right to have an outburst like that. Yeah, shilpa was mad you used up four stock cubes which considering you are on a budget, you could have used less. Yeah she moaned about, and yes, I know Shilpa has been very proactive in the ordering of food and cooking, but let's face it, she's doing something. Jo I haven't seen lift a finger and her ex co band member was even 'disappointed' (his words) with her. Danielle even said she just follows the crowd, so Jade should be the one setting the example, and her mouth needed washing out with soap.
She got upset over Shilpa saying she should take elecution lessons. Well, I never judge people for their accents or the way they speak, so I did think they were getting below the belt, but I can also understand her defence given Jade was overwhelming and at one point so close and angry you were not sure if she was going to get physical either.
The problem is now with the Indian media becoming involved, is that some of the british indians here are starting to say that whilst we try and teach people not to be racist or judge on colour, or culture, that some of the white british people are in fact racist and that the BB 'three' are proof that this is the case.
I'm not sure that is true. Obviously there are those who are racist, but the BB 'three' certainly are not an example of most of our society these days. Only the few that rock the boat.
I just feel very angry that it has been allowed to go on, but as an Indian representitive on GMTV said this morning 'it should be allowed to go on, because it will show them for who they are'. Personally, I am not sure this is good PR for our country at all.

From what I understand these people made racially offensive remarks on public television. The authorities are debating whether or not to do anything about it.
I, on the other hand, was arrested immediately even though only my accuser had spoken (at the time I was arrested) to the police.
It beggars belief.
I don't watch BB and never have, but you'd need to be living on another planet right now not to see some of the clips and hear about the furore.
I think the 3 girls are behaving dreadfully, and I feel embarrassed that they are representing Britain today. The people in India that are seeing the clips must think we are all like that and that makes me cringe with embarrassment :(
I think there are just two words that hopefully sum up these idiots - 'career' and 'over'

I watched it last night and found it extremely distressing viewing. the vitriol that came out of Jade's mouth was way out of order. Completely. She needs some professional help.
Just watching the new and it seems that there have been 27,000 complaints, BUT the ratings have gone up :angry:
Just heard that it seems carphone warehouse? is withdrawing their sponsorship too :thumbs:

:yes: And also The Perfume Shop have withdrawen Jade's perfume from their stores and Dannielle has lost two of her contracts, think they've shot themselves in the foot a little. According to C4 News, Jade called Shilpa a poppadom last night but she dosen't think that's rascist :shutit: :doh:

:hiding: When you put all these happenings together (apart from carphone warehouse pulling out; Jade's perfume being removed and also Jade being dropped by the anti-bullying group) doesn't this all kind of stink?
Looking at it from Channel 4's point of view they have now got everything they want "ratings" which have gone up because of all of this; government intervention; they are also making money out of it and to cap it all loads of publicity!
Could this all be a calculated set up :unsure: ? What has Jade got to lose? Why did they bring in Jade and family everyone knew what they were like. Jade is already known as having a loud mouth and not many people like her; the only ones left in there are not big personalities are they? I certainly do not recognise anyone apart from Jade :blush: oh & Cleo Roccas - just my age I suppose :whistle:
But the names that people really knew have gone :unsure:
Sorry but I watch the news and read the papers and then I see this chap making a statement in his striped polo shirt looking totally rough and not well groomed considering the position he holds at Channel 4! I am fast doubting if this isn't all a set up to make money :angry:
