:) Can somebody tell me about mp3 players please?! :)

Mr s has bought me one and after three days of me nearly throwing it outside and jumping up and down on it in temper I have managed to work out how to copy my favourite cds onto it

What I wanted to know was - if say like on Yahoo/internet radio where you pick the song/artist you want to listen to can i copy these songs onto it? Or does it have to be from cds or downloads that you pay for? I honestly havent got a clue  The last time i recorded anything was when tape players were all the rage!!!!!

Thanks!!

I'm old fashioned - I use a mini disc and limewire pro.

I've just bought a numark to transfer all my vinyl onto minidisc - so can't help with mp3 players., but limewire pro is much better than limewire basic for downloading and content.

I've just bought a cheap mp3 player. It also has a built in microphone so I can record any conversations I am dragged into with my NsFH (or abuse from their foul-mouthed off-spring). All I got from my old microcassette dictaphone was a recording of its own motor noise in my trouser pocket!

It's a Philips SA1202 with 256Mb of memory. Enough to do what I want as I don't wander around listening to music. The cost was £24.99 from Woolworths.

For those of you who do want to listen to music note that it does not support copyright protected (DRM*) WMA tracks bought from the internet.

Sparrow, you can't copy stuff from online radio  MP3 players are fairly easy to use, save your music as mp3's or wma files then just copy them into your mp3 player. the mp3 player shows up in "my computer" as removable storage (just like a floppy or cd drive). you can copy your music there in the same way that you'd copy stuff to other removable storage ;)

Thanks!!! Told you I was a bit thick didnt I

Il have a play later then and try and save some more!! :)

There is another problem with this though - when I have got my headphones in happily singing along  my darling husband thinks its highly amusing to creep up behind me and scare the hell out of me  He ll learn ;)

Thanks again!!

I am edging towards thinking about getting an MP3 player, I was wondering about getting one and a mobile phone combined, does anyone have a phone like this?

I am completely terrified at the thought of it , as i just learned how to upload pictures from the digital camera to the PC, when the darn camera broke on me!

I wouldn't have a clue, I am not into these 'gadgets' as I would look a fool trying to use one!

I think my kids would no more than me, even the 18 month old!!
