then there are people like me who called a doc through the nhs direct, when my hubs was in serious abdominal pain, and stressed i wanted someone to come out and see him asap, like a plum i sat for 30 mins reassuring hubs that the doc would be with him very soon, rang back to find that he'd be another 45 and only then told them to upgrade to an ambulance which was with us in 2 mins as we live very near an ambulance station. just as well as his appendix had burst.

it's horrible being sat with the phone in your hand at 3am wondering if you're complaint is serious enough to call for an ambulance when you get utter tw**s like that abusing the service grrr

There is another story in the news today about idiots calling 999 - this one was because there was too much chilli sauce on his kebab :angry:
