It's sad to say, but I end up watching it ever year!

Strange guest list, but then I always like the strange ones!

Looking forward to it, especially the first bit when they throw them out of planes and things!

sp54
06-11-06, 11:40 AM
The word 'desperate' does spring to mind for some of them

I haven't heard anything about Faith Brown since about the 80's

I cannot imagine David Guest being a contestant in a million years - that must be a red herring methinks

sp54
06-11-06, 11:51 AM
David Guest is Liza Minnellis ex

Scott Hensell I had not heard of either, but is apparently something or other in the fashion industry [that was helpful wasn't it? ]

Lauren Booth is a journalist and the sister of Cherie Blair

David Gest???????????

The mind boggles  :D surely he is way to vain and up himself to even consider it?

Jan Leeming is interesting, maybe she thinks she might resurrect her telly career by going in the jungle, i used to like her :)

i love im a celeb, its the best 'reality' show going

Just remembered one of the other names - Milandra Burrows, ex Emmerdale actress Kathy

StoneHenge
06-11-06, 12:01 PM
Sounds like a recipe for disaster!

So if you were in the jungle, what would be your luxury item (and you can only have one remember!!!!).

Mine would have to be sugar (can't take tea without it, and I think they get tea don't they?).

wouldn't care about a hair brush or things like that because you just put your hat on and not worry about it! (I assume bo buster is included in the kit they get?)

I hope David Guest gets to eat the creepy crawlies - can his face move after all that surgery? :P

Bonkers Mad!!!

Oooo, Jason Donovan, i had a rude dream about him once, involving a van parked outside the post office :hihi: lovely it was

Is it next week then? I was wondering when! We've all been looking forward to this coming up in my house! :)

sp54
06-11-06, 03:17 PM
:D It starts next Monday, the 13th Mazza  . Can't wait :D

I can't believe David Guest will be on it - not his thing at all, and there is usually a couple of mistakes in the rumours.

I can't remember who the others were  as Katie Price/Jordan took up so much time talking about her only 2 assets  [yes, really] that they ran out of time and read the whole rumoured list out in about 5 seconds

Nancy De lollio [sp?] - somehow can't imagine that

Rachel Hunter - model and Rods ex

Louise Redknapp - singer and footballers wife

:D The official line up has been announced

The 10 contestants are -

2. Toby Anstis
37. DJ on Londons Heart radio station

3.Phina Oruche
26. Footballers Wives actress

4.Lauren Booth
39. Journalist and half sister of Cherie Blair

5. Matt Willis
23. singer - former member of Busted

6. Faith Brown
62. Comedienne

7. Scott Henshall

8. Myleene Klass
28. Former member of Hearsay :)

9.Jason Donovan
38. Ex neighbours actor and singer :D

10. Jan Leeming
64. former BBC newsreader :D

So, what do you all think?
The bookies favourite is Jason Donovan.
My money is on Faith Brown :D
I didn't like C.Thatch before she went in last year, but have ended up being a big fan of hers and voted for her  so will I feel the same way aboout David Gest? Will he ever take his glasses off?
Who do you think will win and will anyone walk?

Bonkers Mad!!!

just to reiterate, i love Jason Donovan

Well, if David is used to the high life, I can't see him lasting long drinking out of metal cups and eating rice all day!

I imagine without his 'make up' his plastic face will shine through those ozzy rays!

Given the younger ones in there, I am guessing they are hoping for some romance as well, as they got none last year did they!!

I loved Dec's comments when he said 'It's hard for us too you know, sometimes they don't change the menu for a few days!'.

Can't wait now, sounds v.interesting indeedy!

Annabel
08-11-06, 10:03 AM
I am intrigued as to how David Gest, who has to be the vainest man going will cope. what on earth is his motivation?

i saw a prog him and Liza did about their impending nuptials at the time, he was buying her some jewellery, i nearly puked at the way they were dribbling over each other and STILL the old queen kept his sunglasses on!

or will he surprise us all by being totally down to earth and practical and an all round trouper!

oh! oh! will they make him jump out of an aeroplane? his face might fly off ahahahahahahaha

sp54
13-11-06, 07:01 AM
:D Starts tonight, ITV 1 at 9pm

Apparently David Gest is already causing probs
He has clashed with Lauren Booth, didn't turn up for a photo shoot with the others and has 'compromised' over his glasses. He has reluctantly agreed to exchange them for tinted shades instead!
His choice of one luxury item was his PA  :hihi: :hihi: which he was not allowed!!!

Half the contestants arrive by kayak and half bungee jump in.

Can't wait

StoneHenge
13-11-06, 09:38 AM
Can't wait SP!

I hope they make DAvid Bungee jump. Can't believe he wanted his PA. What for?

Pity them whoever they are!

I have my seat booked.

sp54
13-11-06, 10:01 AM
He he he

David Gest wanted his PA to turn down his bed  among other things

I was just reading an article about how the contestants are picked etc. written by someone who used to be part of the interview process. Far from having trouble recruiting people, they have has -beens, wanabees, and general z -listers queing up to get on the show. Myleene Klass and Toby Anstis have both tried before, and Jan Leeming has tried several times!!! She was always passed over in favour of other middle aged women - Jennie Bond, Christine Hamilton, Jilly Goolden etc. So she may do quite well being that keen to be in it

They will also be introducing a surprise celeb after a few days like the last 2 shows.

Yeah!!! That's good SP!!

If they didn't have spiders out there that could bite, I would be happy as pig in muck, as I adore camping and I'd love it (just not the eating bugs thing). The rest I could do, but they do have these people round them 24/7 so if they did get into trouble, they would be soon out of it.

Why can't they have a non celeb version. I'd be up for that!!! I'm a normal person, get me out of there (did I saw normal!!! )

Mr sp loves camping, but we haven't been for 9 years now - I don't think my poor old creaky joints would like it any more [that's my excuse and I'm not budging]

Will they be jumping from a plane this time to get in?
If they do it would be interesting to see if david guest's cheeks flap on the way down.
As you know every time he smiles his shirt pulls out.

:D Fantastic start to the new series

What a surprise to see David Gest phone voted for todays bushtucker trial  :o

I don't like him, or Scott Henshall [not a good team player IMO] or the actress from footballers wives, though she could grow on me.

I had never heard of Toby, but he is coming across as a nice guy so far, and Myleene came across well too. She's not of the Sophie Anderton/Jordan school of pouting, sulking and flirting, but seems easy going and placid

I do admire all of those who bungee jumped from the helicopter though :notworthy: :notworthy:

I still like Jan Leeming and Faith Brown, and so far Lauren Booth hasn't annoyed me

Excellent stuff  :D

StoneHenge
14-11-06, 07:13 AM
Faith Brown shocked me. Are they going to give her a wheelbarrow to carry those enormous boobs around!!!

David seemed quite different to what I expected, and his snoring was something else!!

Jan was funny, but I'm not sure about the rest yet. Toby seemed vulnerable and Jason looked like he needed a good sleep.

Can't wait to see tonights bushtucker trial! I bet he will do well actually and surprise everyone!

Domestic Goddess
14-11-06, 05:20 PM
David Gest's snoring was hilarious, no wonder Liza is divorcing him!!! I can't wait to see him do the trial!!!

I like most of them, but think that Scott could be a bit of a Prima Donna. Faith's boobs are amazing are they natural does anyone know?

I can't wait for tonight's show!

Annabel
14-11-06, 05:58 PM
faith brown is all natural as far as I know.

no wonder Liza Minelli hit David Gest over the head with a lamp, must have been the only way she could get him to stop snoring

well at least HE got a good nights kip!

Shame no one else did though! Cor blimey, I've heard quieter drills than him. I think if I'd been married to him I would've hit him over the head too, either that or muffle him with a pillow.

sp54
14-11-06, 06:31 PM
Faith Browns chest  puts Jordan to shame  :hihi: :hihi: I think they are natural - they haven't got that tell tale 'ridge' of 'enhanced' ones  . She's had work done on her face though, round her mouth especially

Can't wait for tonights :D

I wonder who the surprise celebrity incomers will be in this series - I heard Timmy Mallett was one?

StoneHenge
15-11-06, 07:49 AM
I heard Milandra Burrows (Kathy from Emmerdale), and a chap whose name totally escapes me now, so that was useful!!!

I thought David was great doing his trial yesterday. The way he just took that huge nasty spider off his head yesterday. How brave!! I could have handled all the other things (I thought the baby crocs were lovely!), but not the spiders!

Faith Brown's chest is all her's yes, just amazingly large! I don't know how she doesn't have back ache. Certainly would have helped with the swinging they had to do to get the treat chest.

I thought David would be a pain, but he's actually growing on me now, and doesn't look as plastic as I thought he would either. I like how he tackled Lauren about the nasty things she said about him, and I bet she felt like a right pickle!!!

I'm enjoying it, I have to say!

BelaLu
15-11-06, 09:25 AM
We could have, for a change, Im An NFH, Get Me Out Of Here....

With a few small differences....more spiders, bigger crocs and no back up teams. In fact no telly program, just round them up, tell them they are gonna be stars and leave them all out there....

sp54
15-11-06, 09:49 AM
 @ BelaLu

I heard Milandra Burrows was going in, and Dean Gaffey too [Robbie from Eastenders]

I really don't want to say this, but David Gest is growing on me too, drat the man  I so wanted to not like him  :hihi:

Interesting sneaky little remarks coming out too from Lauren Booth about her brother in law, Tony Blair  Might help keep her in if she starts dishing the dirt.

I can't stand Scott. Such a bad team player, and only cares about himself. I am so glad he is doing the next trial. I have heard it didn't go well  Shame!

I think Myleene Klass is coming across really well. She is taking everything with such good nature and is still smiling!

I am loving it

Bonkers Mad!!!

i hope scott henshall goes out first, horrible man.

I was reading about Erin O'Connor ( the extremely tall and thin model currently in that fab M&S advert with Twiggy and Shirley Bassey), she refused to work with a designer who wanted her to wear a pair of trousers that were too small for her - when she told him this he told her 'well starve yourself for a couple of days then' - rumour has it its yer man in the jungle.

I hope Scott goes out first, he seems like a nasty piece of work to me! I'm actually warming to David now, his sense of humour cracks me up. I should think he had a creature in every possible place when he did that trial. I shudder at the thought!

Yeah, I think an NFH show would be a great idea, especially if they sent in some killer sharks etc. I would pay good money to see that! :D

The second time I heard that rumour was, as Mrs SB, said, on GMTV this morning [ I have it on while I am getting ready in the morning  ]

StoneHenge
16-11-06, 12:32 PM
Actually, I would put a bit on David to win if he keeps up his funny antics.

Myleene is sweet, and the viewing figures certainly go up when they stick on their bikini's (not that I am jealous of their lovely washboard tums!), but I think she will go quite far.

I am not sure about Toby, or Jason as they are 'nice boys' but whether they have the personality to win or not, I am not sure.

Don't think Jan, or Phina or Lauran will win as they did the political gal last time, but if we have new guests, maybe they will prove popular!

Oh Mrs SB, I can't decide yet!

Maybe after tonight I will have a guess. Maybe we should (when we know the full line up) have a sweep stake (only for fun) on who will win, then we will see at the end who the winner is.

I'm loving the show, but am wondering if the tasks are a bit cruel to the animals involved - ie the baby crocs in David's task? Surely it's very stressful for them? Although I hate creepy crawlies, do they really want to be harassed like this?

I like Toby, Jason and Myleene - they are coming across really well.

I want Scott to go as he let the team down on his task. What a Prima Donna! I also think that Phina is a bit of a cow!

I missed Dean going in, but I 'heard' his cries this morning on Radio 1. I went off to bed early, and it was a good job too, as it took me over 2 hours to get little one back off to sleep when he woke just after midnight.

Heh ho!! I can't wait to see tonight's though. Sleep or not, I intend to make the most of watching it. It sounded so oooooooooo funny, and Ant and Dec usually love that sort of thing!

dollyshell
17-11-06, 12:00 PM
Yeah I missed it too as I fell asleep. I should've guessed Dean Gaffney would be picked to do the task. If it was anything like Paul Burrell's I can just imagine how funny it was! :hihi:

I think David Gest will win. They often seem to have a "big" character in each series who ends up winning.

Dean kept heaving all the way through, I had to hide under the covers it nearly made me sick. At the end Ant and Dec got a case of the giggles because Dean was so hyper. It was v. funny. Dean will def. be picked for other trials because it was so funny to watch.

I just can't believe I fell asleep :badmood:

Hi sp, in case you haven't found out already...

Malandra's in now - Matt and Lauren had to go and retrieve her from a high wire across a ravine as part of the celeb chest thingy.

Jan Leeming has been picked for the next trial which is 'snake bite' ....Lorks!! (she looked so bewildered and horrified when it was revealed it would be her...I kinda felt bad for her really as she simply has no CLUE what she is like! Someone in there needs to tell her!!

Oops did you mean Last night ie saturday or Friday as I am all confused now! (seen your post was 9.19 am yesterday ) Well anyway, I guess you are caught up now!

Lovin' this series :D .

Thanks mazza :D

Well, poor Jan Leeming, picked yet again to do tomorrows trial

I'd actually like to see what some of the others are made of now

Tomorrow, the contestants are being split into 2 camps and will be in direct competition :o i had heard rumours about a second camp

I really like Myleene & Malandra, and Jason, Toby, Dean, and er, David

Not sure about the others at all

What on earth is Jan Leeming like? is she really that naive that she doesnt realise that making any kind of negative comment about the Bush Tucker Trials will guarantee that you end up doing them all?

is there an 'eviction' tonite? because I want to see that nasty little G*t Scott get the push, he is a vile spiteful little gossip

Poor Jan! I know the woman is silly (her son on GMTV this morning was quite a dish though!!).

I think she did well, but heaven knows why she keeps going on and on knowing full well the British public are just going to keep voting her in again and again!!!

I can't wait to see them split up. Jan won't cope as she doesn't really get on with the girls does she. What will she do with Jason!!!!

Should make things quite interesting though!

GMTV say it is being split into a girls camp and a boys camp

Jan Leemings son said she wouldn't like that  as she is not a 'girls girl'

I have heard another rumour that there has been a huge bust up in the camp over the split

I will do my duty and keep one ear on This Morning for you all and report back if I hear any more

Jan leeming,

More like Jan moaning, is it just me or is she getting on your nerves too.
Last night was the only time i've seen her smile, but then spoilt it by going on and on and on..

Ok

It has def. been split into a male v female camp  The 2 camps must compete for food and immunity from eviction

There has been a huge bust up, the likes of which have not been seen on the show before, but he would not say who was involved

Should be good then.

I don't know why they won't tell us about the bust up, I mean, the papers will find out one way or the other, or do you think they are saving it for all the kiss and tell interviews when people get chucked out?

I mean, they all must need the money or they wouldn;t be on the show.

I bet it was scott involved somewhere, or even David, as he's been getting fiesty the last couple of days.

Oh SP, it's a tough job, but someone has to do it!!!!

Yes, I heard on Good Morning that it is def boys v girls and the big bust up is something to do with the split of the camp...plus Jordan and Peter Andre said they heard it was literally a physical scrap between whoever was involved  .

I dunno if it's true but it's worked as I can't wait now!!

I love this programme, but am getting a bit bored now with it always being Jan and Scott doing the trials.

I would really like the chance to see what some of the others are made of. I would have liked to see either Faith or Lauren doing tonights trial against David or Toby

Hope it's different people for the next trial :(

I heard it's kangaroo anus on the menu tonight (amongst other delicacies...) For goodness sake, who would have even wanted to try that in the first place to see if it's edible???!!!

Yep, fed up with Jan being picked now - all the others are getting off very lightly methinks... ;)

I thought the eating trial was not as bad as usual   A wichety grub smoothy has got to be better than a live wriggling one, and where were the fish eyes?

Glad it isn't Jan tonight, but would have preferred to see someone other than Scott up against Phina. She will clearly win  and a fella will get booted out.

Oooh, I think it just could be Scott to go then    Fingers crossed ;)

They were total wimps the pair of them. They didn't even give any of them a go. I would have done, just for the experience (not the anus though, I draw the line at bottoms).

so they picked Phina for tonight. I didn't see who got picked from the boys.

I think we need to have some others now. They all really want to do one (they might not look like it, but they know if they do one, their ratings go up and that equals more money!!!).

No, it is Scott again :badmood:

It was between Scott and Jason, and Scott got more votes, so tis him yet again :(

Phina will completely storm this BBT, which means one of the boys will be evicted. hopefully that odious cretin Scott.
