In our paper a question was asked:
The novel Gadsby is said to contain no letter "e" in the entire book. Is this true and, if so, why? Surely it can't be accidental?[/b]
The answer was given which is:
Written by the American Ernest Vincent Wright in 1939, and comprising over 50,000 words, Gadsby is indeed a novel that doe not contain a single letter "e". The Author attributed this to his "somewhat bulky nature". He saw it as a challenge having been told that it could not be done.[/b]
I must say this sounds quite incredible; did anyone else know that????
