There is nothing like shutting the curtains and listening to the wind and the rain [ well come on, it beats listening to NFH  ]
and eating stodgy comfort food while wrapped in a big fluffy dressing gown.

Winter is my fave time of year, dark nights, real fires, frosty mornings, you can wear big sweaters and not feel guilty or like they're just hiding wobbly bits :P

Weather here is a bit chilly, but dry and sunny.

No snow yet!! No rain over the weekend forecast, but 12 degrees in the day.

I didn't see this either!!!

I had to scrape the frost of my car this morning! I glad we have now got the fire to burn all night as I would have frozen in my wee boaty otherwise!

Oh SP, I don't have a coat you know! I lost it when we moved! I will have to kidnap one of the hubby's until I get one.

Oh, and as for sucking in your tummy, I love that about winter, everyone relaxes!!!!

First frost of the season on the cars here on the south coast this morning. Temp in my back garden currently 2.4 centigrade. But it feels much colder than that outside. About 4 days ago, it was 18 centigrade!

Hey ho, the joys of the British weather!

Mr T's on a mission to save money and the environment. So when the heating is on it is no higher then 21 degrees.

I am freezing and currently have on: a vest top, pj fleece top, pj fleece trousers, socks and a towelling bath robe! Him and LT are playing on the Scalextrix wearing just shorts!!!!!

 @tortoise!! Im glad somebody elses husband is like that! We had a new settee and 2 chairs in the summer which were wider than our old ones so we had to move our cupboard we had the fish tank on. So mr sparrow decides to put the fish tank on the hearth :o which is fine through the summer. I have asked him and asked him to move the fish tank (very heavy :sport: ) and all he keeps saying is yes Il buy the proper cabinet that fits the fish tank :( Still waiting -so I had amoan last night about wanting to put the fire on as its so cold - I cant while fish tank there cos Il either have boiled fish or a cracked tank  - and i was told put an extra jumper on if your cold  If hes cold the heating goes on - me I have to put an extra jumper on

I hate it when he says "It's not cold!" YES BUT I AM!!!!! :P

Anyway if he is hot, why can't he just take more clothes off. Last night in my lounge, I could see my breath!!

Oh dear T been there had that at the old house that was always cold! Just wait until you get the dreaded hot flushes then when you are hot you can fling open the windows and say to him I'm hot   (Not much help when I know you have a long time before that will happen :hihi: )

Where we are now we're quite lucky as the house is south facing and somehow the heat stays in the bricks and keeps the house very warm even when heating is off; the other day I had to put the fan on in the kitchen cos the sun was making it so hot  sorry T - at the moment the sun is blazing in thro the lounge window and I have the windows open at the back of the house - I am in shorts too   I love this time of year but not when it is wet, damp and cold - give me frosty nights and sunny days - lovely

Dreadful here  Cold, torrential rain all day, and windy.

The parents collecting the children I look after couldn't get to me  One was travelling by train from London and she is stuck, the other got stuck on the main road to the M25  for an hour. Other people had to come and get the kids for them

Mini sp took 2 hours to get back from college by train [normally about 40 mins max] and mr sp is struggling to get home from the next town due to flooding.

A night for staying in and snuggling in front of a fire

Don't go out T. This weather is not fit for man, beast or Tortoises

After working outside for a short time, yesterday, my customer was talking to me about British Gas and the cost of running central heating etc. I told her that I'd switched to nPower but they keep closing my account because I don't use enough gas for them. I am happy to sit in a room at 15 deg so I often don't bother with heating until it gets really cold.

The customer looked at the open back door, visibly shivered, and said she could see that cold doesn't bother me. :D

Its the damp that gets to me more though, I ventured out today to do the weekly shop, and Mr. Planet says if I get wet enough my calliper will rust! :hihi:
