*Colder weather stops KFH playing in the streets
*Windows are closed so NFH cannot eavesdrop
*NFH garden antics are kept to a minimum
*NFH does not sunbathe in swimwear - no wobbly bits in sight
*Early darkness means you can pull your curtains and shut out the world
*Wearing your favourite cozy jumpers
*Eating comfort food like soups and casseroles
*Scrunching through fallen leaves
*Watching TV snuggled up in a blanket
*Drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows
*Having a brandy at bedtime to keep out the cold
*Conkers!
*Good drama series's on the TV
any more ideas?
The Autumn light - the strange, still, clear artists light
The leaves turning amazing colours
The cats playing in the fallen leaves
The last crop of berries on the canes in the back garden, which I leave to the birds, who repay me with purple splodges on the pavings
Going onto the porch really early, in the sharp chill, and watching my breath come as a mist.
Wiping the condensation off the porch window to make a peep hole to see the birds feeding on the suet, knowing that at least they are putting on some fat for the winter
Taking the warm jumpers out of storage and enjoying their `snuggliness'
The crunch of morning frost underfoot and the hoar on the spiderwebs
Drinking hot vinegar and honey drinks in the doorway, very early, and the steam rising in a fragrant cloud with each sip.
I quite like autumn too :)
I love the leaves turning all gorgeous colours, blowing round, piling up - I hate them blowing in the pond
I love the fresh autumn mornings, the quiet and the dark first thing before anyone else is up - I also hate turning out of bed some days though
I love the thought of Halloween and Bonfire Night, but I hate the idiots that spoil both by their idiotic tricks, early firworks etc :(
I love the thought of going to the pub and it having a roaring fire to welcome you :)
The birds in the garden, but especially the robin singing to the streelamp first thing on a morning
Better TV on a Saturday night than any other time of year - and being torn between going out or showing my age and stopping in to watch the telly
Being able to close the curtains, snuggle up in front of the TV and lock out the world
The thought of Christmas just being around the corner - and hoping the in-laws don't ring/call this year
Wearing big sweaters and wearing black and not feeling like the odd one out B)
Yep, I kinda like autumn

I love the wonderful sun rises and sun sets Autumn brings.
I love the leaves changing colours then watching the kids build big leaf piles and jump around in them.
I love wrapping up in an extra layer and having a nice fire going.
I love snuggling up on the sofa with a nice cup of tea knowing all is well with the world, even if it's blowing a gale outside.
I like the thought that nature is getting ready for a rest soon and that when spring comes, it's going to be spectacular!
Bonkers Mad!!!

Early nights meant no children at the front or back of the house, and the autumn rain ensure they stay indoors, this month has been the most peaceful month so far for me.

Going for a drive in the country just to see the amazing colours of the leaves - nothing can beat that :)
I used to love walking through crisp leaves as a kid, but these days I end up with dog poo on my shoes if I try it
Lying in bed listening to the wind and the rain
Closing the curtains early and NOT because of NFH

I love strolling over the fields in the morning and afternoon with the 3 dogs and not melting with the heat and batting the flies away.
I love the changing scene every day with the autumnal colours appearing on the trees and bushes.
I love the sunrise and sunsets that are so striking at this time of year.
I love seeing the migratory birds filling the skies as they travel to other places and the sound of the geese as they form the V shape as they fly overhead.
I love the early mist that settles in the fields below as I arrive at the fields and the eeriness of wandering into the mist as I descend into the dip of the fields.

For me probably the best thing about this country of ours is the seasons, I have always loved the couple of weeks that see one ending and the next starting, Autumn is special because of the mixture of colours as the leaves fall of the trees and bushes and cover the ground, going for walks and everything just seems to be much more calm and peacefull compared to the hustle and bustle of summer.
mrsmagoo loves getting the poorly quilt out and snuggling up in front of the tv when its grey and miserable and pouring with rain outside, the kids have even started doing this as well now.
Going to watch a football match with my sons with cups of hot drink at half time
Getting settled down for the evening with nothing better to do than read or listen to the radio (in a another room on account of all the people wrapped in poorly quilts in the living room) AND THEN daughter asking to be dropped off somewhere so I have to go out in the cold and rain !!!
Definately love sitting in a cozy pub in front of a fire
and most definately
SEE AND HEAR LESS OF THE NFH FAMILY, less shouting, banging, swearing, animal noises and general b*llsh*tting...if only it could be like that all the time.
plus it's about 7 months (ish) untill next summer !!!

I love Autumn and Winter. My favourite times of the year.
Colours,
Smells,
Conkers,
Mist,
Wind,
Dark nights,
Soft Blanket on the sofa,
Dark mornings,
Wrapping up in scarf, hat and gloves just to walk to the shop
NFH doesn't have his back door open,
NFH doesn't have his shorts on 8-X
Other NFH hasn't had their air con for a week
No KFH outside playing football or riding their bikes right outside my house,
The only thing I don't like is going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark. I feel like a vampire, I never see daylight!! :hihi:
I can't believe I forgot to add -
CHESTNUTS  :hihi: :hihi:
I love the things and am sitting here now eating some

Ooh - my favourites!! Put the hot milk on DG - I'm coming round! YUM!!
I love the colours of autumn too but don't like skidding on lots of wet leaves about a foot deep :( - that happens all the time (you don't get the crunchy kind where it rains 6 and a half days a week!!) - the joys of the country I suppose.....
We get some terrific autumn skies - the other night the whole hillside was lit up bright orange and there was a TRIPLE rainbow AND one of its stripes was TWO spectrums wide! GORGEOUS!! Now, THAT is autumn! :)

I leave the house at 7pm so it is dark. I work through the night and finish at 5am - still dark.
Come home go to bed and get up at about 3pm when it is just getting dark!!
Mind you I like dark nights so never mind! 3 nights off after tonight so I will get to go out in daylight. Garlic and crosses at the ready everyone! :hihi:
