apparently, eating 1 packet of crisps a day is the equivilant of drinking 5 litres of oil a year :sicky:

Lovely! 8-X
I made it a rule in our 'boat' that the kids only have one packet of crisps a week now, either as their Friday treat or as part of one of the lunch boxes in the week but no more.
Shocking isn't it? But then if you combined that with perhaps what some kids eat every day in terms of junk (like the mums of those kids that delivered the junk food to school), it would probably add up to a fair few litres of oil (which could nicely power a bio car).

Crisps are one of the most satisfying things to eat when you are hungry. :D
I tell you what is nice... the new Pringle Gourmet crisps.... especially the Prawn & Garlic ones.... 600 calories in a tube (smaller than the average Pringles tube) but gorgeous.
I guess it depends which type you have as I'm sure some are worse than others.

I'm a Pringles fan, or Kettle chips, love them, but it's a case of a handful every so often, everything in moderation :)
Not tried the new Pringles though, will look out for them

i just love crisps, i probably eat at least 4 packs a day  my diet consists of pre-packed sandwiches, crisps and coke
Mine consists of coke and pepsi certainly  and wine, and cheese and chocolate, as for pre-packed sarnies, yep, and they say kids eat junk food? :hihi: Crisps I like, but it's a handful of pringles - as I say everything in moderation, a glass of coke, pringles, wedge of cheese and a choccie bar, there you go, all balanced out

Have you seen the ad that goes with this campaign? Its horrible - its a picture of a child as though she was drinking from a bottle of water but its a bottle of cooking oil. 8-X
Crisps have been banned at my daughters school for breaktime for ages although kids have them at lunchtime! On monday they are starting a healthy tuck shop for the juniors - fruit, cheese, wholemeal rolls, orange juice and bottled water etc. It will all be priced from 10p to 35p

 at Eeyore, I like crisps too especially Kettle crips but I could not eat them every day as I suffer with inflammation of the oesophagus and anything with a high fat content makes me 8-X especially if I eat in the evening, so that's a put off for a start :hihi: As you say eeyore "everything in moderation" :hihi:

If I stopped eating everything that the latest survey told me was bad for me I would starve to death slowly and probably cost the NHS thousands anyway!
I eat 1 packet of crisps a day so :P
We had the steak and onion pringles and they were quite nice. The salt and pepper ones were ok, but a bit too peppery.

Many years ago I worked with a chef who took great delight in burning crisps to show how much fat and oil was in each one! "You can't set fire to a potato, but the oil and fat on a crisp burns beautifully!" and smells awful!
Just a wander down amnesia lane

Found mini tubs of the new Pringles at Sainsbos, 28p, tried the prawn and garlic, phew I smell like I've had a meal at the Italians :P
