Can anyone recommend it??? or give me more info????
Thanx :D
I don't know anything about it myself, but my sister had it and thought it was great. She was so impressed she was starting to learn to do it herself, but health probs have stopped her completing the course.
Can't be any more help
I've heard its fantasic. A couple of my hubby's relatives do it. Hubby is a spiritual healer and the principles seem the same. Its something to do with the energy centres in the body and moving positive energy around ( I think   )
I know my hubby's healing are fab and very relaxing. Great de-stressers and non-intrusive( no hands on at all).
As I said, Reiki sem similar in some ways and heard a few people say its good for stress
my m-i-l does it, along with reflexoglogy and indain head massage
I will be honest and reiki didnt suit me, appartently I am too senstive to stuff like that, and I believe I had a reaction to it.....exactly 24hours later!
I got all hot and un-nessacary! my work collegues were entertained for a while though, they said it was great watching me change colours!
most people find it very helpful though, all depends on how open you are to it.
if you dont believe it will work on you then it possibly wont ;)
the only way to find out is to give it a bash

I went to a business "networking" meeting organised by the chamber of commerce, and met a very nice lady who had set up in business as a reiki practisioner.
She charged £3000 per day. It would have to be VERY good to justify that cost!

Hello,
I am a Reiki Master. I teach Reiki and give Reiki to people who wish to have it. It is wonderful, it is very relaxing, balancing, healing energy. I have been teaching for 12 years.
I am a member of the Reiki Federation.
I have never ever heard of anyone charging £3000 per day!!!!
A session lasts between one to one and a half hours. The customary fee is between £25- £ 30 per session.
Someone somewhere was not telling the truth!

If you want to try something spiritual then you could go and see a faith healer for free. I sincerely do not wish to offend anyone, but I would never dream of charging someone for healing prayer.
Rose Tree, I hope you don't mind me asking, but what is the source of the healing energy that Reiki provides? I don't know anything about it I'm afraid.

I can assure you I am stating exactly what she herself told me - of course that doesn't mean she was actually getting any customers - it was a chamber of commerce meeting to try and raise custom after all. From some of the comments of the other attendees, she didn't get much business there!

Hello Rose Tree,
I see that there are some Reiki courses at various colleges but I can only find Level I courses.
How did you qualify????
Thanks,

I was on a plane back from Hong Kong a couple of years ago and there was this guy sitting on the other side of the ganway to me who sort of 'latched' on' to me and my friend for almost the entire flight (you know the sort!).
He said he was a reiki expert but I asked him some simple questions about it and he deftly avoided answering them, it all smelt a bit fishy if you ask me. But then perhaps he is a con artist.
I would like to know more. Surely it's one of those 'power of suggestion' things? Someone is making you belive you feel the warmth, so you do?

I'll try it later when I get home from work!! I might look a bit odd doing it right now

Hello To everyone who has commented on Reiki.
In order to learn, one must seek a Master. There are many different types of Reiki. I teach the traditional Usui method. Masters tend to advertise in Mind Body Spirit magazines, or on the web. The Reiki Federation has lists of practicioners on the web. One can officially practice at level 2 with insurance of course.
For those who are curious, try it! You may be pleasantly surprised!
It is a balancing energy which may be perceived as hot, or cold or a tingly sensation wherever the practioner is working on that part of the body that needs to re-balance. The energy can be used to send absent healing, to heal pets, plants, clear stagnant energy from rooms.
It is an ancient form of healing, healing means to make whole, a person will take what they need from the Reiki practioner, their higher conciousness will decide what is needed.
Faith Healing does not cover the whole body. Reiki does. Reiki is more relaxing as one tend to be treated on a couch.
Faith healing is given whilst seated in a chair.
All healing comes from God. Reiki is like a channel on your radio or television, it is of a different frequency to faith healing.one does not have to have faith for it to work.
I do not charge for the Reiki, but for my time, there is always an exchange system that operates in the universe, it also means that what is given is of value to both the Healer and Healee.
I hope this clarifies all of your queries?
