Hi

Visiting someone who is decorating a flat. Despite warning, covered in gloss paint. Now it has dried, find I am unable to remove it. Tried white spirit, to absolutely NO AVAIL!


HELP.

What about the purple liquid stuff? Can't for the life of me remember what it's called. That might work.

I'm sure Mr Unhappy will have the right answer for you though. :)

Turpentine..paraffin..meths..white spirits (na).

I remember the purple stuff but cant for the

OOPPS.What a disaster.

Did you get it on your clothes and yourself?

Dried paint on clothes is almost difficult to remove. :sad:

Paint on skin will come off even when dried. :D

If you have paint on your headhair its :cry:

Hammerite paint thinners is a very good product
for removing gloss paint,the only problem with this
product is , it is a very nasty volatile smelly product.

Dab some of it on an old cloth to remove paint from skin.
Dont smoke when doing this or you will be toasted.
When you have got the paint off your skin i suggest
you rub on a skin conditioning cream of some kind.
This stuff removes the natural oils in your skin.

I bet you wont do that again :cry:

Hi!

Thankfully not in hair, sadly not on skin.....in the middle, it's on favourite clothing!

Hammerite thinners(nasty or not)....will they work any better than usual white spirit?

HI SAPPH, sorry to hear of your paint episode. :sad:
You could try removing the paint by soaking it in
petrol.
Not sure how the clothing will react if its coloured.

Nasty stuff paint.

Removing the smell of petrol from clothes is not difficult,
a few washes and a bit of fabric conditioner will sort it.

Im not sure that the petrol will work on this problem
though,Hope it does.

I have researched this problem and found nothing.
i am relying on my knowlege. :blink:

Hi april,sapph has mentioned using white spirits to no avail.
my idea of using petrol may not work.

I am waiting for a reply from sapph to see if it has worked.

HI SAPPH,on the subject of Hammerite Thinners.Due to the cost of
buying this product.It would not be worth the expense of using it.
It would take several bottles at great expense to youself in order
to remove the paint stain/s.
Did the petrol work?
