Hi all,
Just to add to my stresses, I seem to have been suffering from a very painful heel the last week or so after getting back from my weekend away. I think it may have not helped when I twisted my foot after carrying the baby buggy over big pebbles on the beach.
It is so painful when I first get up, eases a little, then gets more painful if I either am on my feet for a long time, or sit for a while then get up.
Having goggled the painful heel I seem to get a lot of reference to plantar fasciitis.
I wondered if any of you lovely people had ever had this or anything like it.
I am booking in with the docs to be sure as I am full time working mum who can't afford to be hobbling around!
not come across this but it may be the result of strain if you were having to struggle over cobbles?
Is it swollen?
Maybe an elastic bandage and be gentle with it for a couple of days? If no joy then a visit to the friendly doctor.
In the meantime just a good hug and ... hmm... a treat

A hug, some alcohol and chocolate sounds good Tiomet - full of good ideas!
Thanks for the tip!

Ouch!
Have you fallen heavily on it recently at all? Or cracked it against something, etc?
Hope you can get it sorted at the docs. :)

Hi all,
Thanks for the good wishes.
I think I hurt my heel when trying to carry the baby's buggy over pebbles and twisted my foot. It's effecting both heels, although one is a lot worse than the other. From looking it seems I may have inflammed the ligament that runs along the heel to the ball of the foot. quite common apparently. I need to see the doc to get it confirmed, but I had it iced packed last night, and then I have it strapped up today which seems to help a little!
Trouble is my doctor's change their booking procedures more often than I change clothes, so I have to ring for a same day appointment and have already missed the boat today!
So will try again tomorrow!
Thanks all!
hi sh
sorry to hear that hope it isnt too painful do your doctors have a nurse that you could see if you cant get an appointment with the doctor
mine run the same day appointment system lines open at 8 30 its impossible to get through till 9 30 and then you are told all appointments for today have been taken try tommorow :banghead:
sometimes the pharmacists in the local chemist can be helpful they have saved me from a trip to the gp a few times now might be worth a try
good luck :)

That's a good idea ER. I looked on the NHS direct site, but it didn't tell me anything useful. I may pop into the local pharmacy here at lunch and see if they can advise anything!
GP's are so hard to get in to see these days! I mean, It's not urgent, just painful, and because I can't take painkillers very well, I can't take the edge off!
I don't know! What am I like! Thanks for the tip ER, might just have saved me a trip!
