Big Brother 7 Start Date Announced

Over the past few months we've heard rumour-upon-rumour about what might be happening during Big Brother 7. However, we're about to give you some facts about the forthcoming series.

Obviously, BB Producers like to keep things under their hat until the show actually starts, but what you want to know is: is it true that a couple will be going into the house and could it be Chantelle and Preston?

Or, will controversial BB6 housemates Makosi and Anthony make a return and be put on opposing teams by Big Bro, as rumoured?

Maybe a celebrity will turn-up in a reverse of the situation seen during January's Celebrity Big Brother 4? Or, despite the inevitable concern and fuss from various busy-body groups, a disabled person might finally get into the House, or someone with tourette syndrome?

Well... we can't say. Bah!

What we can say, is that the series will definitely run for 13 weeks this time around, as mentioned in our FAQ's section some time ago. This makes it the longest series yet, as previous Big Brothers lasted for 9, 10 and then 11 weeks last year.

We can't confirm if there'll be a BB3-style split in the house, or whether there'll be more contestants to start with, but the show's insiders have hinted that the re-jigged House now has enough beds for sixteen housemates.

Last year, the series began with thirteen housemates, but a total of sixteen people had walked through the doors before it ended.

The new series starts a couple of weeks earlier this year, on Thursday the 18th of May 2006. So, for benefit of those fans who like to plan their holiday around the show (you nutters!), Big Brother series 7 will be over by the 20th of August.

Within the next two weeks we hope to bring you some piccies of the changes made to the House, which will possibly show the rumoured extensive use of glass walls and a huge swimming pool?

We'll also try and publish an interview with the show's top bods, who should be able to clarify the theme for this year's show.

It's been said that they're going all-out to encourage alliances, **********ing and backstabbing (always favourite with the fans) this year, but also that they're aiming for a 'sexy and summery' atmosphere in respect of the decor.

To us, the two seem at odds, but we'll just have to wait and see.

The TV event of summer is back. Davina McCall gives viewers a first look around the new-look Big Brother house, before the new batch of housemates move in for this bigger than ever seventh series. [/b]

I think I'll record it and watch it afterwards, that way I can fast-forward all the zillions of advertisement-breaks it's bound to have!

Oh my, what a bag of tricks BB has come up with this year. Loves the house, especially the grass under glass!

Pete is fab (pure genius on BB's part to have someone who resembles Lee Evans but with Tourettes). Not sure about 'Bonner' as she puts it. I think by the time everyone had come in, she was wondering why she was there!

I missed a few coming in due to my lovely neighbour banging his car doors about and waking my son up, but caught up after. Ohhhh, something to watch every night, wonderful!

Shahbaz and Richard will make interesting viewing I think! Yeah!!!!!!!

Pete does have tourettes, even when he is on his own he displays his "twitches and ticks" (the correct word is tick)

the thing with tourettes is it can be made worse under stress and when people home in on it, so the more people in the BB house point it out the more likely he is to display it.

I think its good that he is there as it will make more people aware of what it is.......the down side is there will be school children everywhere today running around the playgrounds shouting w*nk at the top of their voices!

Isn't it interesting, how BB makes them all look 'weird' on their audition tapes, when in reality some of them are pretty normal! (e.g. Dawn).

I think Pete's genuine, I was watching him when they kept zooming the night-camera in on him in the bedroom and he wasn't putting his tics on there, unless he's one good actor. ;)

Be a good show this year! :bb:

I think BB were genius putting Pete in, as like you said it will open a few eyes up as to the condition and how it effects people. I have seen a few programmes with tourette sufferer's and they are all really nice people who can't help what they do.

I imagine once Pete settles in, his ticks and outburtst will settle too. however, he is still mad as a hatter, so that should be good entertainment!

Annabel - you will get sucked into watching it dear, you just know you will!

You don't wanna know what I heard all the kids in the school playground guffawing about and shouting at the top of their voices to each other this afternoon...I'll give U a clue though, it was Shabaz's audition tape and how he described himself to do with his ethnicity and sexuality.......ooer  .
