I just wondered how you lovely lot coped with your stress levels where your NFh are concerned?
Do you have specific technique you use to calm yourself down or cope with the noise, do you meditate, yoga, shouting, screaming, crying, breathing exercises etc?
I used to get really stressed to the point of not being able to wind down to sleep (when there wasn't late night noise), but now I tend to take some deep breaths and count to 10.
I can't say I'm sleeping any better but this is baby related rather than NFH related, given that the little tinker has only allowed me all of 21 hours of sleep this week  , but my OH has to wear ear plugs even when the NFH are not being noisy just to cut out the noise of the slightest thing as he is so sensitive. And counting :sheep: has not worked so far!
He loves the warmer weather so he can open the window and hear the outside noise which is like a lot of us using white or pink noise to control the noise of NFH.

Hi stonehenge
There is a topic here (http://www.nfh.org.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=12644) about pretty much the same thing, members posted their stress busting ideas, so hopefully you'll find some that help :)

Thanks Eeyore and JM,
I didn't know there was already a stress busting topic, so that's good to know.
I would love a CD of rain (although my Oh would complain it made him visit the loo more!). Where did you get it JM?
I guess that's why we love the window open (apart from if NFH are outside late of course) because we can hear lots of noises so it blocks out the immediate threat!
I think once little one is feeling better, I will sleep like a log. At the moment it's a case of 'don't get comfy, you will be awake in an hour' so always end up dozing (apart from my hacking cough at the moment driving me miss daisy crazy
Thanks for the tips! Will certainly put some of them to the test and see what happens (might even calm bubs down too!) - we can but hope!

I have this CD that is very good to aid rest, with sounds from rivers, birds and bits of rain with music in the background. It used to work wonders for me but it is not working that well now and I have to resort to pills [Kalms is what I am taking] :(

I have the following, rainforest magic, uluru and windjana. The first 2 are his early works and in my opinion are better and less commercialised.

Thanks Ses. I am not a great taker of pills, mainly because when I had my car accident I was taking a lot of painkillers which have now left me sensitive in the tummy region, plus with having a baby, I need to be 'alert' to react to him (which is 24/7 at the moment!).
I do have a whales and dolphin sounds CD which I gave birth to, but I think I would get confused falling asleep to that and might start making birth noises instead, which would really intrigue my NFH!!!!!
Thanks for the tip JM, i'll go and see what happens (could well have a falling asleep at my desk moment coming up!! he he!)

Search for Rain or Soothing Rain....
...just want to add I don't condone the use of P2P tools but we were desperate and I've made hubby remove it from our PC now we have the nice rain sounds.
