Hi all

I went to see my Gp on Friday and she has suggested I start to come off the Prozac.

I do feel 90% better, I can deal with Mr T's work colleagues and don't feel the need to check his every move! I still have the odd "bad day", so she has told me to come off slowly.

I am to take 1 every other night for 2 weeks and then every third night.

We are also having a week away in France so that should be nice. I can't believe a whole year has gone past since I started to feel depressed.

Wish me luck!

xxxx

Best of luck Tortoise, take it easy, each day at a time as they say. But, glad you're feeling well enough to even contemplate it.

aw great news

If you do feel a wee bit stressed or anything i can highly recommend getting an oil burner and some bergamot essential oil, its a natural anti depressant. a couple of drops in the top with some water (make sure u keep it topped up with water) is great :) and it smells lovely too

a word of warning to anyone who is pregnant tho, pls don't use bergamot oil if you are and consult a qualified aromatherapist to see what oils you can use safely as some of them are very dangerous to pregnant ladies

You'll feel fine coming off the AD's slowly - in fact you might even feel better if you have been suffering any side effects from them - they will stop  .

I hope it all goes well for you, take care and let us know how you get on! :) :clover:

So glad you are feeling ready to come off them, T. You sound like you have made real progress. Bet Mr T is chuffed for you too.

Hope it goes OK, remember we are all here if you are having a bad day :flowers:

Have been taking one every 3rd night for a while now, but think I may have to go back on one every 2nd night. I have been having nightmares again and really bad night sweats. So bad that the quilt is soaked and I have to get up and shower.

Also I have been tearful again and worrying about past text messages that I found on Mr T's phone.

Maybe I am just worried about starting a new job?Or that Mr T will be going back to work and LT back to school.

I don't know, will have to go back to GP again I think.

Still waiting for CRUSE to give me a start date for counselling! They interviewed me back in November!!

Just take it slow honey. Maybe you aren't quite ready for one every third night. Remember you have got a lot on your plate at the moment. Accepting a new job is a stress in itself, not to mention all your other worries.

You are doing really well, but these things take time

Thanks all of you. :)

I don't know if my night sweats are anything to do with my Prozac or whether I am starting the menopause.

I have had endometriosis and poly cystic ovaries since a young age. I was diagnosed at the age of 11! I now have a Mirena coil which helps the symptoms, but was warned about early onset menopause. My Nan went through hers in her late 30's.I am 33 this year so I better get myself checked out!

this is a coincidence!! I have PCOS as well, but my main problem is a hairy face and neck - which I solve by the lo-tech alternative method of shaving

I've not heard of a Mirena coil - I was put on Metformin which didn't do much for me to be honest - I think it was too low a dose, but it did have a slight laxative effect

SNAP!!!!!!!! :) Another PCOS person here also, suspected I had it for years, but only finally got diagnosed last year with it!

Sadly it also turned out I was a type 2 diabetic as well ...... started Metformin last December and I am on 2000mg a day... didn't do anything for the PCOS issues though!
