View Full Version : New Deal for Disabled
Has anybody ever been on the New Deal for Disabled programme that's run by the job centre? I lost my job in November due to my levels of sickness. Contacted jobcentre straight away, I'm now on incapacity benefit. Said that I wanted to get back to work asap, not just for financial reasons but for my health. Its took them untill now with me nagging to actually start doing something. During this time I've got myself some voluntary work and have started a learndirect course. As well as sorting all the benefit etc.
I keep on asking for help but not getting any :( Anybody any suggestions on how I could speed things up or at least get a reaction, other than a stick of dynamite

I had a meeting with a man today about doing what they call work preparation, this is like voluntary work but for a proper company. You don't get paid but get work experience and in my case hopefully my confidence back.
I sent an email to radio leicester saying how long it has taken to get any help but have not received any reply.

Worthwhile trying the Leicester Mercury newspaper.
I received 2 letters yesterday from job applications. The first said no but nicely. the other just said that they had receive my application but nothing about an interview. The annoying thing is both had got typing mistakes.
I'm phoning GP tomorrow my depression is getting worse and I don't like the way I'm feeling.
I've also been on the Leicester Mercury site and have sent for another application form. But I feel like this :banghead:
