I am now using the Firefox web browser more and more. I downloaded it the other day and I have to say that first impressions are very favourable.
It is quicker that Internet Explorer and by checking back and forth between a site using IE and the same site using Firefox, the photographs viewed through Firefox not only loaded much quicker they seemed to be sharper. And software seemed to download quicker, too. It is also better at dealingwith viruses, pop-ups, etc., than IE.
Another advantage is that it is free and diverts some money away from Bill Gates. Don't worry about Bill. He's already got enough to live 100 lives on! :hihi:
There's an article here about it. You can also dowload it there, too, for free. And the best things in life are free. Well, sometimes! ;)

Absolutely, I use Firefox and Thunderbird for email.
Also save yourself £100's -- check out OpenOffice -- it's free, as good as if not better than MS Office and completely compatible with MS Office -- download it from http://www.openoffice.org/

I use Yahoo for my email at home. Stuck with Outlook at work, however. IT boss is a bit stuck in the past... ;)

I too am using firefox, it's great. I like the fact that you can have several tabs open in one browser and also the premanent 'find' feature in the bottom right hanf corner is really useful.
Only problem I have is occasionally on eBay a page will come up all texty looking with a measage saying I need to update my browser but I just ignore it, refresh the page and it's fine.

I use Firefox about 65% of the time, but use other browsers interchangeably also (mainly for site testing, etc). Thunderbird (for e-mail) is much better in many ways than Outlook Express for instance and I enjoy using this.
One of the most useful functions in Firefox is also the ability to add on 'extensions' for free, e.g. at:
http://toolbar.google.com/firefox/extensions/
https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/
Firefox has useful tab browsing and you can also do things differently to IE in many ways (e.g. unlike IE, in Firefox, you can view your own saved passwords for instance).
For those web designers out there, Firefox displays your pages as they are actually intended 99% of the time  (especially if you design to W3C Standards), unlike IE that does it's own thing a lot of the time and is a constant nuisance to anyone who designs any page on the internet who wants to make it as consistent as possible!
I feel Firefox isn't always particularly faster than IE in many ways (it all depends on how you rate speed and what you're comparing it with), however there are many advantages with all the available features it has. Firefox is also 'open source' (this is basically "software that is intended to be freely shared and possibly improved and redistributed by others").
There are many other browsers that are used (e.g. Opera, Safari and other Linux based browsers) and are possibles too. Opera is now free to use too, where as before it was paid-for/licensed. Firefox have come a long way now (I remember using it before when it was called Phoenix and Firebird).
ZDNet has a Firefox 1.5 (http://reviews.zdnet.co.uk/software/internet/0,39024160,39239139,00.htm) review which is useful. :)
Wikipedia on Firefox (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mozilla_Firefox) is also pretty detailed and has handy links.
All in all though, if it was a choice for me - IE or Firefox, Firefox would win it. B)

I use Firefox for the tab browsing mainly, doesn't clutter my task bar :D, also, people will not know that I am surfing agressively at work ;)
