Bonkers Mad!!!

can't remember if i told you all that Blondie, my last Gerbil, died just before christmas which left me with an empty gerbilarium. it's stayed empty just because i hadnt decided whether to fill it again.

yesterday i heard some cat growls outside the back door so i opened said door and my cat, Jack strolled in licking his lips. on the doorstep was a very wet, very shakey little baby field mouse :( . so (quite pedictably) i found a box, thinking i'd leave it quietly to recover (or die of shock) and i'd release it after dark once all the cats were in for the night. well it recovered very well and is now living in the gerbil tank  i couldnt bring myself to put it back out in the big bad world  so we now have a very happy, not to mention very lucky, field mouse called Rebound

Aw bless, isn't that lovely  Our Star tries to chase the field mice, and one often hides behind the drain pipe and peeps out at her, she can't get it, and it knows it

Awww, I wish I could save some of our field mice from their cruel fate at the paws of my two killing machines... :( They are so little and cute, I feel rotten each time I have to scoop one up...I get that many now that I have run ourt of burial sites for them   .

ive been doing a bit of research and apparently they are very placid when handled and grow to around 10 centimetres. i stayed up way too late watching the funny little thing last night

mazza, i never have corpses around for long, one of my other cats will always clean up if the actual killer doesnt want it ;)
