I've had a good day today :)

Apart from that one rant I've just let off (which made me feel much better for doing it!) I am at peace in my world. It's amazing what a nice crisp, sunny winter's day can do to boost the spirits.

Finally got around to doing my self assessment tax return online today - had been dreading it - but, the Revenue website didn't crash on me, the figures, amazingly, were all to hand and I didn't have to run around in a mad panic finding things. And, best of all, the amount actually owed is manageable, the money was available in the bank (and has just been paid!) AND they don't want any money up front on the promise of next year's income. :D

I also had a lovely time this afternoon. The local council laid on a winter wildlife walk in a park near me. I went with the dog and it was fabulous. The sun was shining, the air was fresh, the walk was interesting and I learnt a lot. If ever your council arranges one, I would recommend it.

Two hours later, we've come back home and the dog is fast asleep dreaming doggy dreams. I am totally relaxed and quite sleepy and hungry. Only slight downside is, I now have to cook the Sunday roast but hey ho, life can't be perfect!

Hope you all had a good day too

Good for you that you sorted your Tax Assessment - well done indeed!! :notworthy:

Hey, my handy tip for Sunday dinner is.... ''Aunt Bessie's for everything''
(done and dusted within 30 mins!!! )

 :hihi:

Mazza,

Unfortunately, with my tribe, I once did the 'do it from scratch' stuff, particularly with the Yorkshires and they refuse to accept Auntie Bessie's anymore!

But still, at least yorkshire pudding batter isn't that difficult to make and you know what's in it!

And, to tell the truth, I quite enjoy it. (I think I must be mad!)

SP,

That sucks! But, remember when I damaged my cooker just before Christmas? I never did post the final result for it but (and with the indulgence of the moderators) I used

www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk

And they got me my new bit at a very reasonable price and with superb service.

Do you know exactly what is wrong with your oven and have you thought of posting a message on their forums for advice?
