I have not smoked for five years, I'm very proud that I gave up.
I never usually think about it but today I am having the most awful cigarette cravings!
I am so tempted to go over the road and buy a packet of 10 and a box of matches. I know if I did I would feel sick to my stomach.
Oh Phantos
DONT DO IT - DONT DO IT - DONT DO IT Keep that mantra going now! You have done so well, don't let a "little bit of stress" get to you - think of it as a little bit anyway, whatever it is won't kill you, but the ciggies might! You will feel much worse if you succumb now, won't you?!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS on 5 years - but think how much better shape your lungs will be in if you can make it 10, or even 6!!
I am never surprised that ex-smokers always know just how long they've been stopped, just goes to show that the craving never really goes away, it just gets replaced with the pride of stopping and being able to say X number of years. so DONT SPOIL IT NOW!
Have a coffee instead, it's still a fix of a sort - or if you're not into that, how about a workout? I have often felt the urge to smoke but decided to stick on a step video, even if just for 10 mins - the last thing I can think about when I'm panting away with that is a fag! And it reminds me why I should stop! (still trying unfortunately, but getting less all the time!)
Stay strong, honey, I'm right behind you.....Boo! :D
I gave up 5 years ago Phantos.... dont give in!! the feeling will pass and it'll be so much better than smelling foul and being skint!!!

Thanks guys, trouble is I am stuck in the office all day doing this god awful job which depresses the cr*p out of me. If I was at home with stuff to do or spending time with my husband I'm sure I wouldn't feel like this.
I haven't gone out yet, I am sitting here with a packet of Tuc biscuits, an apple and some water. I might have to add chocolate to that list as well!

Now then Phantos, do not give in to this, no no no!!!
it is disgusting poison!!! why do you want to poison yourself?
dont you dare go near any fags!!!! :nono: :nono:
You can stay off them Phantos, you know you can, and think hos bad you'll feel if you give in ;)
Eeyores mam has quit smoking for a few years now, she still gets cravings, especially under stress, and I tell her NO NO NO
We're with you Phantos
No no no from me too, you have done so well, you are bound to have some wobbly moments!
Please resist, you can get through this blip!!! :salut:
Oh,phantos, you know you'll hate yourself in the morning if you give in
Think of that new anti smoking advert on telly and start singing 'I've got you under my skin'. That should put you off :o

The thing is I KNOW all this stuff, I KNOW it's bad for my health, it's bad for other people's health, it stinks, it's an idiot tax, all that stuff. Those are all the reasons I gave up in the first place.
It's just TODAY that I want a ciggie.
Just one.
Or half of one.
Or just a puff.
AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHH
I'm not going to do it. But I do want to cry

Hang on to your resolve! One puff leads to half a ciggie, then a whole one, then just one more, then it doesn't matter because you've started again and then the guilt creeps in and the cycle starts all over again. Remember how hard it was to give up before? It took me years, used to smoke 60 a day and I haven't touched a ciggie for at least 14 years now.
Occupy your thoughts with something else - chocolate, cakes, TV, romantic films, music, anything - just don't think about ciggies!
Hang on to your resolve.
hi p
i can only say what others have dont do it
take it from someone who quits gets a problem and starts again if you give in you will never be free
please dont even consider putting one near your mouth
if your cravings are really bad why dont you try nicorette gum it could be enough to stop the feeling of wanting a ciggie without the harmful effects
good luck p
You'd hate yourself,p. Don't do it!
Quick, break into your emergency chocolate rations asap.
You DO carry emergency choccie rations , don't you? :o

Yeah I had some in my desk drawer!!
I'm off the get the train now and I can't smoke on there, then I'll be home, where hubby would lynch me if he thought I'd been anywhere near a cigarette (plus I'll smell the stinky smell from NFH downstairs and then I'll be put off by thoughts of her wrinkly smelly old face).
I think we have got some wine left over from yesterday

Yep I stayed ciggie free
I had told hubby at lunchtime that I was having real cravings, so when I got home the first thing he asked me was "Did you have one?". So I told him no. I felt so awful he practically pleaded with me not to start again.
Good on you Phantos :D You did it, you should be very proud
Good one Phantos, you can be so proud of yourself and so can your family!!!
Keep going! :D
:D Well done phantos  :notworthy: :notworthy:
