Dearest Tech Shed dwellers,

Mr DG and I have bought a Playstation 2 for our daughters which they love. Some of the games load fine but others display
"TV Setting

50hz display can be displayed on all PAL televisons."

Then it it has 3 boxes
1st has 50hz
2nd has 60 hz
and the 3rd has test
and then it has a cross symbol to "select"

the thing is it won't allow us to select an option and therefore the game will not play at all

Can some clever person help us out with this?? The girls are itching to play, and we can't understand it at all!!!

Many thanks!!

Love

Just flying past so a quick post. :flowers:

50 Hz is always the safe bet.

The UK standard TV is PAL.

hi dg

im an old hand at ps2 but ive never had this problem ? ive always selected 50 hz when prompted to select a setting

when it displays the three boxes saying 50hz 60 hz and test is it highlighting your option when you scroll down ?

sometimes you can only use the analouge stick to select an option and not the up down left right arrows

and are any of the games american or japanese it makes a difference they wont play on a pal system

hope you sort it out :)

Hi DG its mstr lp......mom here watching ..............I think u should have the tv on 60hz becos thats how I set my ps2 in my room if this does not work there is a slight problem which means that that game does not play on certain ps2s.....
1 where did u get the ps2 n how old (because it might be chipped which means that some 1 had taken out the main checker so it can play copied ps2 games
2 is the game brand new because some of the old ps2 games have a different game setting which means you have to play on 50hz
3 if 60hz doesen't work and the game does not load that definately means there is a faulty disk.
so as I said if none of these work then take back the game and try and get a newer copy or a refund.

Good luck

I have several games that allow players to chose between 50 Hz and 60 Hz as standard options.

Just choose 50 Hz DG :) , it'll be fine.
