I am having a slight problem with my computer, when i start it up,it goes through
the normal process of checking everything is ok.I then get a black screen with
white writing which says CPU OVERSPEED,PLEASE ENTER SETUP TO CORRECT.
I have looked around the setup program but cant find out how to correct this problem. My computer tells me to press F1 to continue, which i do,and everything
is ok but in the back of my mind i can see a problem looming sometime in the not
so distant future.HELP.
I dont know the manufacturer of this beast but looking deeper into its history it
is a pentium 2 processor and it is MMX II.Built sometime in 1997.

Any help would be most appreciated.

mrunhappy has got a problem which even he cant solve.yet.

Hey Mr U http://www.nfh.org.uk/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

Has this suddenly started happening or have you been over-clocking the CPU etc?

It's possible it could be any number of things really - your fan on the CPU could need replacing etc, or the actual CPU needs replacing etc - few other options too. What's happened recently with the said PC? You say it's quite old, so that could mean bits need replacement http://www.nfh.org.uk/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif
