Oh sonicpainter I'm so sorry you didn't get the job :( I know how you feel, last week I didn't get a job I was in for that I really wanted ;)

Voluntary work can be brilliant, I've done allsorts and really enjoyed it, and it's great to add to your experience when you go for a job, I'm sure you'll find something interesting that you'll enjoy :D

Take care, a new opportunity is just around the corner

Sorry you are feeling so down :(

Well done on the voluntary wok though, there just aren't enough volunteers for anything now, so its really worthwhile. It will also let you refocus and find something positive to concentrate on :)

Take care and sending good wishes your way :flowers:

Hi sonicpainter,

So sorry you didn't get the job. :( But I'm a great believer that everything happens for a reason.

I agree with banana, why don't you think about contracting or starting up something of you own? My husband went to contract for a local firm, it turned out really well, they didn't want him to leave. But he learnt all sorts while he was there, including some good insider knowledge about that particular business. He has now started his own internet business using what he learnt, and between him and his business partner they are pulling in a tidy sum (although it has taken a year and a lot of hard work to really take off).

These things don't happen overnight, but as you have some time on your hands, why not give it a thought?

I hope the volunteering goes well, and you enjoy meeting some new people!

Hi,

Can't send you any good vibes at the moment because I'm as miserable as you seem to be but if its any consolation I was out of work for 6 months following redundancy & couldn't even get an interview. I then got 2 in 1 week and got the second one so don;t feel too bad, luck changes on a sixpence you know. Still stuck with The Munsters upstairs from me though...hence why I'm feeling so miserable....

:) Hi sonic and jzbross,

Hang on in there  Things do change you know...sometimes having the bad times seems endless. :( Then one day you know, something simple will happen which will make you feel happy and blow away those dark feelings. :) Sometimes experiencing the bad times can make you appreciate the normal nice things in life.

I still get blue too sometimes and want to wrap myself up in cotton wool, I often feel quite vunerable and want to hide away from the world and not let anything nasty penetrate into it :( Self presevation I know, but we all have our own ways of dealing with this...just wanted to let you know you have my support. You will deal with it in your own way and it might take some time, remember we are always here when you want to have a rant or a 'blow'

Hugs

thank you everybody reading the replys has made me smile again i think my problem is cause i left my work through victimisation (made the mistake of telling my boss bout my nfh) and used it against me i was warned to watch what i say to him, found out the hard way, the benefits agency invistgated it and found in my favour but they cant do anything so i have had bullying at work plus the NFH it has affected my health.

But i am determined to do something 1. get NFH EVICTED 2.get a really good job, doesnt have to be lot of money cause i really enjoy fixin computer and computer networks and no iam not a geek he he, but many thanks and may good wishes and joy come to you all :D

hi, how long were you at your last job?..if you were unfairly dismissed you should speak to an employment law solicitor to see how you can get money from your ex boss, if you aint working you can get a solicitor paid for by the state... best of luck :ban:

hi durham guy i worked for three years for them, and it would take me too long to go into detail bout it but it would shock people for the lack of ethics in the place i worked and it was a college.
i was going to take them to employment tribunal but having so much hassel with NFH at the time just didnt have the energy to do it.

it has poised problems with getting referances and stuff and i have been applying for contract work agency phones me take my details then i hear nothing and also went to a lawyer who says i have should have left my work a lot sooner, so iam stuck in limbo only thing i can do is voluntary work hope that someone can see what i can do because along with the situation at home it having a significant affect on my health both phsyically and mentally.

just have to soldier on nothin else for it

cheers sonicpainter
