http://www.nfh.org.uk/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad2.gif ON MY WAY HOME TONITE I GOT PULLED IN TO A LAYBY BY OUR LOCAL
CONSTABULARY.I GOT OUT OF MY CAR AND THE FIRST THING THE COPPER SAID TO ME WAS,HAVE YOU HAD A DRINK TONIGHT SIR.I GOT RIGHT UP CLOSE
TO HIM AND SAID NO,BUT I HAVE GOT 8 CANS OF LAGER IN THE BACK AND A
BOTTLE OF WINE FOR ME WOMAN.THEY THEN LOOKED AROUND MY CAR, THEY CHECKED THE TYRES THE TAX DISC FOR VALIDITY THEY HAD A GOOD OLD NOSE AROUND AND COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG.THEN THEY HAD THE CHEEK TO SAY HAVE A GOOD EVENING SIR.
WHY ARE THEY STOPPING MOTORISTS.I SHALL TELL YOU.
THE CAR DRIVER IN THIS COUNTRY IS AN EASY TARGET TO GAIN EXTRA REVENUE FROM.YOU HAVE TO BE SO CAREFULL WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING THESE
DAYS WHAT WITH SPEED CAMERAS AND OTHER SPEED PREVENTATIVE MEASURES.THE CAMERAS ARE NOW EVERYWHERE,YOU NOW HAVE TO BE ON THE
LOOKOUT FOR THEM.
DRIVING IS NO LONGER A PLEASURE IN LIFE, IT HAS BECOME A SIN.
I AM NOW PLEASANTLY DRUNK ON MY 8 CANS AND MY MISSUS IS GETTING THERE.CAR IS LOCKED UP IN GARAGE AND WONT BE DRIVEN TILL 3PM.
THE NEXT DAY.
WHAT REALLY ANNOYS ME IS WHY ARE THEY NOT ON THE LOOKOUT FOR REAL
CRIMINALS http://www.nfh.org.uk/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ph34r.gif

Why did they pull you up Mr Unhappy?

I thought the Police could only pull you over if they thought you were committing some offence/ that whole "reason to believe" stuff?

I've been pulled over three times:

first because I threw my dog end out of my window (that's a fag, nothing to do with animals....) and he said I could be fined £5k for littering (pfff, yeah, pull the other one, this was at 3am, one male copper, one single female driver);

second time was for overtaking a skip lorry (I was going 34mph in a 30 zone, but was told to "go home and read your Highway Code");

third time was to check I had a tax disc (it had come unstuck and fallen off - I was told to get some sellotape).

Hope your evening was pleasant apart from that event?

I was stopped and searched by the police for walking through the town centre at 5:30am months ago. Emtpy pockets sir, then he called me in and checked out my address, then gave a lecture on `safe places to walk, remain by main roads at such hours`. Thankfully no-one was around to witness this, still...

Did he give a reason for stopping and searching you, Reinen? Because he has to have a reason and he has to give you his name,number and address of the station where he is based.

I think some of them try it on, hoping you don't know the law.

As i said last night,the police in my area have nothing better to do with their time.
The average motorist is an easy target for them.Their excuse for pulling me over
was to see if i had been drinking.(rather stupid i thought because i would spill it
when driving round bends or going over bumps). http://www.nfh.org.uk/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif
I would have thought their time would be better spent chasing burglars and other
petty theives also some of the nutcase drivers who treat our main road as if
it was brands hatch.

some forces have different targets each year, I guess it depends on what they failed on the year before.

if car offences are up one quarter they then spend the next quarter tackling car drivers. etc
what would be nice in an ideal world is if all offences were given the same time and effort as each other.

it looks good on records too....we have all seen the news, last year the police caght this number of burgulars...aren't we clever, it also works the other way..no one last year was charged with driving offences because of our campaign..what they mean really is we didnt catch any one last year as they were going to fast!!
