I am thinking of going to see this new film.
I visited Groombridge Place last year with my friends and kids and we saw it being filmed.
The only thing is I am not too keen on Kiera Knightly.I know she is stunning and a good actress, but her pout really annoys me!!
I hope the film will be good and that they have got the accents right!

I'm sorry to say I think she is one of the worst actresses around at the moment - I'm not sure I'll be able to bring myself to see her massacre Lizzie Bennett's part. It'll be far too painful.
She's been in some good films but the films were good in their own right and certainly not because of her below average contributions. I don't actually understand her popularity in any way whatsoever. Ah well, she'll come and go like so many others eh? :)

 Erm... I wouldn't describe her as a "good actress"... I think she delivers a weak performance in every role, and just happens to be in good films that support her. I managed to ignore her in "Pirates of the Carribean" and concentrated on the wonderful Mr Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow.
It is a blow to have her cast in Pride & Prejudice... one I may never recover from. No amount of chocolate eating and comfort spending will console me. I am quite vexed.
Who thought if it? How in a million years did anyone think of her for the role? Questions that will haunt me 'til the day I die.
Thank heavens I have the BBC version to watch... in that there is some solace.

I'm sorry, I think she is cr*p, but I didn't want anyone to moan at me!!
I can't stand her voice.

Not sure about Matthew Macfadden (I think that's how you spell it) as Darcy. Colin Firth and Sir Olivier are hard acts to follow as the Darcys of this world.
I think he was pretty brooding as Tom in Spooks but brooding on the verge of boring - I think this was more about the character than Matthew's acting skills myself. I'm not sure he'll be able to carry the role but time will tell. :)
Tortoise, I know what you mean about accents. I love Keanu Reeves to bits (I like his outlook on life) but he was SO miscast in Dracula, his (and Winona Ryder's) accents were dire and that's putting it politely! Saying that, I still love the film.

I am a die-hard fan of the BBC version and still have many a fond thought about Colin Firth as Mr Darcy. I wonder why they bothered to make a new version so soon.
I love the story so much that I'll watch it on DVD just to be able to compare, but I don't think I'll see it at the cinema.
I'd love for there to be a new version of Northanger Abbey
